    Cross Core

Jeff, I’m sorry to hear about your situation. My shop owner (also in Seattle) graciously offered me a full refund (after 700 miles ridden) for a trade in. I bought a Raleigh Redux ie and have been much happier with it. It’s not quite the climber that the Cross Core was and definitely more...

2019 Raleigh Redux IE Step Over -First 70 miles commuting

I found that as well...regarding total mileage. I’d be interested in seeing your fix for the charge port cover. My other concern with it is that the hinge will eventually break. It seems like pretty cheap plastic. However, it certainly doesn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the bike.

2019 Raleigh Redux IE Step Over -First 70 miles commuting

Quick update...just found out if I take the Kiox display off the bike and turn it on I get different information including total mileage.👍

2019 Raleigh Redux IE Step Over -First 70 miles commuting

I too now own a 2019 Redux. Did own the Yamaha Cross Core (pictured) but had serious trouble with forks, or more likely head tube. After five fork replacements my dealer offered a full refund as trade in. I originally had my eye on a couple of Cubes. But they didn’t have my size left in the...

    Shipping horror!

Feel for you. Fed Ex did that to us with a piece of furniture. Had to steal it back out of the neighbors garage. I always go with UPS when possible. Aside from that enjoy your bike!

Recommendation on where to order a Yamaha Cross Core online?

What other thread are you referring to? I have been told by my dealer that the large frames seem to be more problematic. So, as you say it is a known problem. As I said, the owner is willing to give me a total refund for a trade in on something else. So, not so satisfied with Yamaha...but feel...

Recommendation on where to order a Yamaha Cross Core online?

Don’t know how you are doing on your Cross Core search, but be aware beyond just getting the bike there are some other issues...bad forks, I’m on my fifth! I would contact Pete’s in Akron Ohio. He had a buyer who basically needed a whole bike replaced due to issues. My dealer in the Pacific...

My new e-Bike: Cube REACTION HYBRID Pro Allroad 500 (2018)

Drew, What frame / wheel size did you get? I test rode a couple today at their Bellingham store. I liked the 29” wheels, but the 17” frame felt small. The 18” frame felt better, but it looked smaller because of the 27.5 inch wheels. When did buying a bike get so complicated?🥺

    Help with first time ebike

I’ve owned a Yamaha Cross Core since early March of this year. The motor is amazing and natural feeling. However, be aware that this particular model has had some fork issues. Mine is now in the shop looking at getting its fifth fork. The guy at the shop seems to think it’s only on the large...

    Greetings from Victoria, Canada

Welcome Kelly Victoria is a fabulous place to ride with the Lochside, Galloping Goose and great neighborhood streets. We have made several trips up there on our touring bikes and are looking forward to the day we can bring our ebike. John

    Cross Core

Yeah, I have had that kind of thing happen on my regular bikes as well. Well, at least you still have the 3 year warranty if it comes back next year. I guess I better get pedaling...you’ve almost caught up to me😉

    Cross Core

It’s been a while since I posted. My Cross Core was in the shop for a couple of weeks being diagnosed and repaired(?). The mechanic again insisted it was a fork issue that Yamaha is well aware of. He did say once the new fork was installed he noticed creaking noises coming from the motor/ crank...

    Cross Core

Tried that myself to no avail. Also, temporarily removed front brake cable thinking there could be some friction there...didn’t change anything. If you feel comfortable with it try riding with no hands and see if the noise goes away or at least diminishes. If so, to me that’s proof it is...

    Cross Core

Frustrating to say the least. They have honored the warranty and been professional about it. But they keep saying it’s a fork problem that Yamaha is aware of. It is in the shop yet again waiting for it’s fourth fork. Each time it seems good and then after a few miles the creak is back. It...

    Cross Core

WOW! This sounds like the probable cause for my issue. I’m on my third fork and the sound is still there. Bringing my bike back to the shop this week. Should be an interesting discussion. Thanks so much for your post!

    Cross Core

The seat post, seat tube connection can definitely be a source of creaking. I checked that early on and even upgraded my seat post, always applying grease when I reinserted the post. It did help alleviate some creak. But the main source is definitely up front. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Cross Core

Sorry to hear. The Cross Core does have the old-style tapered axle on the bottom bracket, which is more susceptible to loosening up. You may want to check the bolt on that crank if you haven’t already. My creak is in the front of the bike. Originally it was diagnosed as a bad fork and I’m...

    Newbie

Test rides are a must. Another idea is to rent for 1/2 a day. Many shops do this and it’s a great way to really get a feel for the bike.

Yamaha: "the mid drive ebike you never knew you wanted, at a price you can afford"

Thanks for the words of encouragement Tara! There is much I love about my Yamaha. Which is why the creak is so frustrating. I will be contacting Yamaha soon and going back to my LBS to get it resolved once and for all...I hope ?

    Cross Core

I have owned my Cross Core for about four months and 550 miles. There is a lot to love about this bike and it has made my riding on my very hilly island enjoyable. However, it has a bad creaking noise that makes it hard to completely enjoy this bike. A couple of solutions have been suggested...
