Thanks, since I already have a cassette on the way, I'll put the small cog on the old cassette to see if that solves the problem. Since the new cassette is only 20 bucks more it would probably be pennywise and pound foolish not to replace the whole cassette. Maybe next time my outer cog wears...

Well, tightening up the cassette didn't fix my issue, so I think I probably just needed a new cassette. Derailleur hanger angle looks good. The mechanic that came out to fix my broken spoke did adjust my b screw but I can't imagine that or barrel tension would be the issue since it's only...

Good to know, I guess I shouldn't have cheaped out going with the lowest price on eBay. Steep and cheap which is a reputable seller had it for a buck more than eBay but I didn't want to pay shipping so went the eBay route...

Thanks, I have a luna tool kit that came with one of my bikes. It has a whip and a cassette removal tool. Pretty sure it will work. Also have a torque wrench. Time to learn a new skill!

Yeah, my chain was a KMC x10e which I believe is the same as the current e10, they just renamed it. I wasn't sure if my chain checker was defective, just took really good care of my chain, or if it was the chain lube I was using but most likely it's just that these KMC e rated chains are the bomb!

I think I may just need to tighten up the cassette. When I got home I noticed the cogs were loose. I had a mobile mechanic come out last year to replace some broken spokes. He was quite the character. Let's just say he didn't like e-bikes, but none of the bike shops would work on my bike for...

Oh right, I meant outer (lowest) cog. It is a 10-Speed Shimano CS-HG500-10 and I think they only come in cassette. $30 on Amazon whereas my replacement chain was $40. I've never replaced a cassette before but seems pretty simple.

Well, after 4,000 miles I finally replaced my chain. There was no stretch according to my chain checker but what prompted me to change it was it got wedged underneath my chain guard after rolling the bike backward with the chain off the front ring l and couldn't get it out without bending it. I...

Yep. I know it's borderline unbelievable. I should post a video clip.

Same here. Still on original chain. No stretch after 3K miles. I keep thinking there's something wrong with my chain checker.

    Anti theft GPS

Sounds like you need one for you car! :) You could always get something like this for your car if installation is too much of a burden for you. Either way it would only be pennies a day to monitor.

    Anti theft GPS

Thanks for the tips. I ended up doing this for my older TK419. I originally bought the version without external battery, then ordered a second tracker (B version with external backup battery) with an extra backup battery for my first tracker. As you note, unless you have the B version, it...

    Anti theft GPS

So you would rather have no options than options? Why? Because you don't trust yourself not to do something stupid? OK, I get it. That's why I don't carry. I've never needed protection. Better to have smaller balls and use your brain to maximize life expectancy when things escalate, than...

    Anti theft GPS

Ha, sounds like my experience with invoxia. It worked hidden in my chainstay, but it was a PITA to charge, and it just didn't track reliably. Tractive, puts out a good product for pets, especially if you place a premium on health wellness monitoring, but not sure I'd go that route for an ebike...

    Anti theft GPS

Haven't checked in here in a while. Was looking to add a tracker to another bike and picked up a Micodus MV710G tracker and Simbase SIM to test. So far so good. Notifications from the Micodus app are coming reliably and this tracker can do lot's of cool stuff like send alerts when the bike is...

Vote! Do you like old or new color layout for forum?

I may be in the minority, maybe not looking at the poll results, but I find the blue theme nauseating. I don't know why, I generally like blue, but this theme just grates at me. I've seen a lot of forums in my day, actually have administered one for 20+ years, and have to say the old green...

    AM1000V6 or CC

For pavement, CC no question! Love mine. I have a MTB (Luna X1) similar to AM1000 and while it's great off road no way I'd choose that for rides around town. CC is way more comfortable with more relaxed riding position unless you love riding around town hunched over on a bike with MTB...
