New radrunner xmas came early just need some tips!!

I used the same technique on my rear brake on my Step-Thru Commuter in my initial set-up. It worked beautifully. Much recommended.

Best, easiest, cheapest way to get rid of regen on a Radcity 4

Hi RangerDave: I hit 25+ mph on a down hill routinely, if I am purely coasting. If I pedal even slightly then something kicks in and I get a braking effect. It is a weird effect and I have learned not to pedal when I want to go fast down hill. I suspect Doowroh is running into a software...

Buying used Rad bike. would you?

Probably it is a good deal. My only warning to you would be to check the weight, if you need to carry it up to a tiny room on the second floor. But all e-bikes are heavy.

Buying used Rad bike. would you?

I agree with AHicks on this issue. You might check it out and see if it is as good a deal as it sounds. You might be thinking of people who might enjoy this type of bike. You may alert them if this is a good deal. You could even buy it as a gift for one of those people. But don't buy a bike...

Best, easiest, cheapest way to get rid of regen on a Radcity 4

No, it is not that bad. I can detect the DD motor drag but it is not going to produce an effect like you fear. Routinely, I hit and maintain 25 MPH coasting down hill. A slight touch of the brakes (which activates the regen) adds little effect.

    New Front Light -- comments?

I noticed on the Rad web site that they are selling a new front light. What is the sage wisdom about the new light?

Buying used Rad bike. would you?

Here is my analysis of the situation. How much do you like that bike? Would you buy that bike if you only had $1500 to buy a single bike? And no used bikes were available. I agree with previous posters that the bike would be a pretty good deal even if you had to buy another battery (and I...

    What's in your toolkit?

I would get a spoke wrench so you can check and adjust your spoke tension immediately. You will need a Park SW-3 (the Blue wrench). Most bike stores don't carry that size. So you will need to order it online. Also, I would get a basic multimeter because you may need to do some continuity...

Rad mini step thru seat post adjustment

On the less than 1% of cases where I have had an ebay purchase not work out as expected then I have received my money back. My only advice would be to look at the number of previous sales. If the number is very small then often it is a measure of inexperience in doing online sales rather than...

Rad Wagon and direct drive fearless motor concerns

I agree with the observations of both AHicks and RangerDave. The DD motor does not have a lot of pick-up/torque but I find that if you can get a full crank rotation then it does quite well. I can feel the drag when I am coasting but typically, in my hilly area, I am coasting downhill and so...

Rad mini step thru seat post adjustment

Luckily the seat post diameter is very common (27.2 mm). I would look for a "mountain bike" seat post in that diameter because they are typically much longer. Decent seat posts are not that expensive ($40) and worth the safety issue. You never know when you may be going downhill at 20 MPH and...

    New Rad bike announcment 3/26?

Rad may be overloading its catalog. See Barry Schwartz on the problem of too many choices. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Paradox_of_Choice

Still in search of the reasonably-priced 1.25" hitch rack to carry my step-thru

I bought the step-thru as a town bike but I have often thought of taking it to other distant locations. The racks I see are approximating $500. I find it hard to justify a $500 rack for a $1500 bike. Have you seen a reasonably-priced alternative for interstate speeds?

    Radcity direct drive

It depends on your definition of "urban." I live in a less-than 50K people town with lots of hills but it is the biggest town in the county and is definitely thought of as the urban area of the region.

Quoting John Ruskin says something about the level of discussion on this list.

The ransomware idea is interesting and plausible. There are a lot of people looking for crevices to find money.

    Great Time To Buy A City Step-Thru — $999

This situation is so silly. Would a Ford dealership refuse to do an oil change and tire rotation on your car because it is a Nissan? There are specific situations where you need special skills and tools, but bike shops are hurting themselves by refusing minor service jobs like the above.

    Great Time To Buy A City Step-Thru — $999

I live on the East Coast and my box arrived looking like it had been shipped to Australia and back, via Lebanon, Brussels, and Quebec. Rad needs to look at the design of its shipping boxes or consider another shipper. My experience with Rad support has been very good. They will want pictures...
