I just took the quick release bolt out and substituted a 6 mm (or whatever size yours may be) allen head bolt and a lock nut with a nylon insert.

Thanks to all, that's pretty much what I was thinking, replace the quick release with a plastic insert lock nut and use an allen or torx screw.

I just ordered a high dollar suspension seat post and am a bit concerned about someone ripping it off if I park it for long on campus. Anyone had any experience on this or any advice? Thanks in advance.

Question: How are you planning on transporting the bike? rack? in vehicle? I plan to transport mine around but would be a bit hesitant about trying to get a bike that heavy onto my roof rack. I have the same bike. Thanks.
