I was able to do the same thing with my Topeak MTX bag. I removed the old hardware and installed the adapter plate. The bolts and plastic nuts weren't enough to hold the bag securely, however. So, I took a sheet of Lexan, shaped it to fit the bottom of the bag, drilled the appropriate holes...

Has anyone just ordered the plate and attached it to a Topeak MTX bag? I have a couple of Topeak trunk bags left over from previous bikes, and I've ordered an adapter plate. Before I go looking for an XLC bag, I thought I'd check here first.
