    The new Stromer ST5

Curious how many ST5's are actually out there? If things work well, people usually don't complain or even visit any of the forums. Not sure how we could find out....Stromer knows, of course, but they might be reluctant to share the data.

Another question as this is my first e-bike: I'm just learning about how e-bikes react, but it seems there is a certain RPM where it gives maximum assist? On all my "normal" bikes I practiced downshifting at just the right moment to maintain maximum momentum and the best cadence when starting...

    The new Stromer ST5

Sorry to hear of peoples' problems with this bike. I now have about 300km on mine and so far it has been flawless (except for the bluetooth connection). Longest ride so far was about 73km and it it used up the top 76% of the battery capacity . I did a lot of riding in level 2, some in level...

I'm just learning about how e-bikes react, but it seems there is a certain RPM where it gives maximum assist? On all my "normal" bikes I practiced downshifting at just the right moment to maintain maximum momentum and the best cadence when starting up an incline. With this one it seems "best"...

Go ride one if you can, and decide. I have about 210 km on mine, over some of my most demanding rides (San Bruno Mt.), and for me the compromises they (Stromer) made are right on the money. It's not the mountain goat hill climber some of the center drive bikes can be. OTOH it offers the most...

    The new Stromer ST5

@Waverydr - didn't answer your entire question - so on a sustained uphill (like the one I went on yesterday), there is a slight but still noticeable difference between 3 and S. But uphills don't happen without effort on your part. My general sense after a few rides is that the ST 5 is...

I'm still struggling to get a good bluetooth connection going. When launching the app on my phone (iPhone X), it updates only sometimes, and seemingly reluctantly. I haven't tried changing many settings from the app. I use the touch screen on the bike, and I think I have level 2 pretty much...

Watts can be confusing. Is it Watts into the motor from the battery, or Watts produced by the motor? We could argue these points at infinitum. I think if you look a the torque numbers it will give you a better comparison. I now have about 160 km on my ST5, live in San Francisco, and so far...

Thanks for your comments, as I said, it may be a matter of proper calibration. I only have two rides on it so far, and I haven't really figured out the proper settings for the hills I ride on. On the flat or a slight incline it is nothing short of amazing..

Getting steeper as I get older - LOL, hence the plunge into an e-bike

    The new Stromer ST5

Well, I picked up my St5 on Friday, have two rides on it so far. First impression is very good overall, but I would have expected a little more from an 800W or even 640W (US spec) motor on hills - am I missing something? Maybe not tuned just yet, but in "sport" mode this thing should be...

Hi all - Finally took the plunge and took possession of a new Stromer ST5 last Friday. First e-bike, but perhaps not last. Glad to join this group!
