That is correct. I have to switch the battery off - turn on and then press power button on the handlebar to continue riding. This keep happening every 200-300 meters. Have to stop frequently to fix the issue.

You have to pedal to reach top speed of 43kms or 28mph. Just throttle won't cut it.

I took the bike to ebike shop. The mechanic opened up the controller and fixed the issue. Not sure what he did / he didn't - ODO meter is working and, I can see the distance travelled. Had to spend another $50 + $25 to fix this issue.

Thanks for the info. It is too much work. I can just select PAS 1 using UP arrow everytime. This would take less than 1 second then EEPROM permanent change to the CHIP.

I spent over $1600 canadian. It is not a small amount. I could have got a bike from volt for the same price from BC. Since this bike had good review, I went for. By the way, I did not complain. Just reported the problem. There is big difference between complain and report issue.
