SuperDelite 2020 Rohloff HS Issues & Support

We've had similar problems with our two 2019 Rohloff Nevos, but things did finally settle down. I had my E-14 shifter fail last year at 14,000 miles, but replacing the E-14 shifter solved the problem. I still get error codes occasionally, which is maddening. Overall, I love the Bosch/Rohloff...

    Bafang BBS-02/HD vs M600 vs M620 (Ultra)

My two cents. I have several e-bikes including a Quietkat Jeep with a 750 watt rated Bafang 620 Ultra mid-drive motor. The torque output for the 750 watt version of the M620 is unclear - I've seen numbers from 120 Nm to 160 Nm. As far as power, the M620 has no more discernible power output...

    Rohloff e-14 oil leak

We have two 2019 R+M Nevos with Rohloff and both started leaking oil like a sieve after the first oil change at 3,000 miles. The oil leaks on the drive side and gets all over the E-14 and skewer. Every time I fix a flat, I have to wipe everything clean and clean the rotor. I think the oil...

    Rohloff E-14

We have thousands of miles on the E-14 with our Rohloffs. It would be an improvement if the shift buttons were a little larger and had a more tactile click when you shift. Especially with gloves and riding in traffic (i.e., shifting without looking), it is possible to miss shifts or shift the...

How much deposit to order a new R & M?

We put down 50% on two bikes at time of order, and the remaining at time of delivery.

SuperDelite 2020 Rohloff HS Issues & Support

We own two 2019 Gen 2 R+M Nevo GX Rohloff with Gates belt drive. We've experienced many similar "teething" problems identified in this posting - with the bikes down weeks at a time for diagnosis and repairs. Our bike shop (located 500 miles away) did their best to support us, but are reliant...

    R&M Bosch Gen 4 Motors.

I have the Performance Line Speed Gen4. It is noisy at first, but quiets down. You can tell a difference in the noise level at 20 miles and after 200 miles, it is quite a bit quieter. As far as power, it is great - the Gen4 is much smoother power delivery than our Gen2 CX.

    ME-Bike Study

As an FYI, the University of Tennessee is conducting an e-bike study. See link: https://sites.google.com/pdx.edu/me-bikestudy/home My wife and I have participated in the study over the past few months. Bosch is a sponsor of the study, and it involves plugging in a dongle to your Intuvia...

    Schwalbe Super Moto-X discontinued?

In my case the wire bead was exposed as a result of the extreme difficulty in levering it over the Bontrager rim. (Yes, I realise that I'm shifting the blame on to Trek!) … David I do favor the kevlar or folding beads over wire, as I find they are much easier to install. In this case, the...

    Schwalbe Super Moto-X discontinued?

FYI, we have had this Schwalbe tire fail twice in close succession. That is, the Super-Moto X 27.5 x 2.4 (62-584). The first tire failed before we ever rode one of our new R+M's. The second tire failed in the same manner after only two weeks of riding our second R+M. Not sure if it is a...

    Cycling Cameras for safety suggestion

My wife and I have hundreds, maybe thousands of hours on our on-bike cameras. We use the cameras as a dash cam to capture road incidents, wildlife, etc. When we encounter unsafe situations on the road, we upload the videos to Youtube and share with local officials and the media - both have...

Speed & Cadence sensor for Delite

We have used Polar, Wahoo and Garmin speed and cadence sensors on several bikes in both Bluetooth and Ant+ configuration. We currently connect the sensors to Wahoo Elemnt bike computers. Both the Wahoo and Garmin have replaceable batteries - using the CR2032 cells. The Polar battery is not...

    New Bosch Motors Q&A

Even though I am in the U.S., the throttle availability is a non-issue for me. I prefer the ebikes not be equipped with them. I realize they do help some shops sell ebikes to North American newbies - that are looking for something more familiar to get started.

Sealer for tire flats-Green Slime, Flat Attack, Zefal or Fix A Flat for Bikes?

Haha, we have many thousands of miles under our belts riding on Seattle's streets (we are in Tucson, AZ now). I've had every kind of flat; shards of metal and glass, screws and nails, etc. I think the wet can help cause a flat by lubricating the sharp object to aid cutting into the tire. So...

Sealer for tire flats-Green Slime, Flat Attack, Zefal or Fix A Flat for Bikes?

Was interested to see the mention of an LBS warning of failure around the valve stem when using sealants in the tube. We used to use sealants in our tubes, as we have run into goathead thorns - besides the normal road hazards. I have since decided I did not like using the sealants, as they...

    Electric Bike Lights

I think you are correct - for some jurisdictions "strobe" lights might be illegal. That said, the bike light manufacturers seem to use the words "flash" and "pulse" - and not always consistently. Some manufacturers refer to flash, others to pulse, some to both. Most lights I've owned have...

Is it possible to swap an Alfine 11 for the Nuvinci N380?

For what it is worth, I have an Alfine 11-speed on a city bike. I rode it thousands of miles in hilly Seattle, and I'm built like and NFL lineman. I cannot imagine a tougher torture test. I never had an issue with the durability of the gears of the Alfine. I did have two other issues. 1)...

    Electric Bike Lights

Thanks for the info. I think there was a study in the state of Georgia, or someplace, where they found pulsed lights are "safer" than flashing lights. That said, I've found the light manufacturers are not very consistent on what they term as pulse vs. flash. In any event, my use of lights is...

    Good hydraulic disc brake?

I have several bikes with Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes, and Shimano XT and Zee hydraulic disc brakes. The hydraulic brakes are far, far superior. Both from a braking performance (power and modulation) standpoint, but just as importantly, easier maintenance. The Avid BB7s are considered...

    Brakes advice?

I don't think that is true. I have used BB7's with 160mm, 180mm and 203mm rotors. I imagine 185mm is possible, if you have an adapter set up to locate the pads to sweep a 185mm rotor. To go from one size rotor to another, you need to use adapters positioning the caliper in the correct...
