    ebike batteries.... sorry

let me further respond by saying that a 7s1p battery using 18650s might be as cheap as 200 bucks for a crappy battery or as expensive as 350 for a good one (or 1k for a dumb stupid good one) you can build one if you have the equipment for about 100 bucks. i am thinking in decades not years, so...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

your not kidding, i was pricing for 30qs from amazon, samsung inr18650-30q cells. not the greatest, but very reliable and with the reliability easy to think about without wondering what it will do. they are about 6 bucks a cell. sorry, but the price to do it right is in my equation, that is why...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

battery choice is just a function of amazon availability, i'm not going too far to source parts and by the time i act most everything i have in mind right now will probably change. i'm using amazon to get estimates on how much this is gonna cost so that my ideas don't scale me over my head. i'll...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

i'm not getting a decent controller, just like what came with the bike i'm gonna throw a cheap ebike kit at it. keep in mind that i'm not expecting to make some sort of high performance thing, and my commute even on this bike is about ten minutes both ways. this is just the start of a hobby and...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

oh, and regardless of what the webite might say i've had the battery pack open, there be 18650 cells in there.

    ebike batteries.... sorry

my controller likely can't handle 36v, i intend to replace it and the rear hub motor. it is a standard sized controller that is in the frame right under the seat, can fit pretty much any controller i want in there. on pedal assist alone i get about 14-15mph although my bike computer could be a...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

you definitely got me thinking and your more than kinda right. i'm only throwing a 500w hub motor at it, and i don't need more than 45 mins to an hour on throttle alone out of it, i normally pedal. should be pretty close with 10s1p, but thinking about it i am going to abandon the battery casing...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

by the way, the bags on the back are just bags. there are no batteries there. not even any holes for wires to pass through. its just a pannier bag. this was an insurance picture, until i upgrade and get my backup bike setup with electric i cannot replace this bike, thus insurance.

    ebike batteries.... sorry

and if i'm going to build my first battery pack, i will use the proper tools. i could save a huge ammount of money by using one of my 24v ups batteries and a solenoid switch with an amperage cutoff (momentary breaker) switch and a couple copper probes. i will build my first battery the right way...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

you are more than likely correct, but i have a further question. are the shimano m355 factory modified for ebikes that is floating around a good (according to my local bike shop illegal to sell) idea or is there something better at a similar price? or is it really easy to modify a brake for an...

    Best Electric Bikes Under $1000?

i have the 2018 x-treme x-cursion, with a 14 mile daily commute (to and from) depending on how you ride you would be pretty borderline, shouldn't be a problem but you will arrive home with 1 bar, so for that option best to plug in at work if you can. it should do it, i wouldn't rely on it. if...

A novice needs sub $900.00 eBike buying advice.... :)

oh, and support on x-treme scooter stuff isn't that bad, i get a response just to suggestions in a day or so, when i had questions they responded just as fast, and i never gave more than normal priority on their support page. calling someone i think wouldn't work, but they respond pretty good to...

A novice needs sub $900.00 eBike buying advice.... :)

i have the 2018 x-cursion, think 300 or so dollar big box bike with a 300w hub motor kit thrown at it and a custom frame built to accept conversion kits. the frame has great welds, the bicycle parts are standard but cheap.

    ebike batteries.... sorry

oh, and to make sure i know what parts i need in a battery i'll list what i have figured out blindly reasearching with no feedback. bms, cells, pure nickel strips, hot glue, lead wires, soldier. for a 36v 10s1p pack that would be about a hundred bucks, there is more take than give. (using...

    ebike batteries.... sorry

this has likely been hashed before, but is it insane that i have priced out the equipment and the cells to make a 10cell 36v battery for only a hundred bucks more than buying a ready to go new one? this is inlcuding everything i can find that i might need to build the battery, i had some of the...

    Front derailleur on X-Treme Scooters "X-Treme X-Cursion"

I'm not sure if my post disappeared because it had an external link to an image or if i somehow managed to delete it when editing something. the question is if anyone here has an idea for going with a 2x or 3x crankset on this bike, you can look it up because my pictures are too large to upload...

any ideas on adding a front derailleur on this bike?

recently got this ebike, my first. pretty happy with it not because of the components or anything (although i don't think i could match the bike and electronics at the same price building it by myself, and that wouldn't even count the folding frame) but because the frame has lots of room inside...
