Building my first ebike and the place I was going to buy the battery from is out and they have no clue when they will be available. Looking for a non Chinese 48v battery in the dolphin case.

One of the things I dislike about stock ebikes is the cost of a replacement battery. Battery is 36 volts. Anybody know if an aftermarket battery would work, or would I need to buy the real thing? Next question, where do you recommend buying the battery?

Obvious question, I don't want the throttle on my bike because you can't ride on bike trails. I'm assuming I can just leave it off when I build, correct?

Good for you! I'm a fair weather biker, but I admire those that brave the elements. I'm in Minnesota and there are some here that ride through the winter. Fat tire bikes are popular here.
