Looking at the Wattwheels Bighorn... has a Dapu MD250 48V middrive. Has anyone had experience with this motor?

Hi, this is the link for the bike... https://www.wattwheels.co.nz/product-page/bighorns Though you might not have heard of the bike, was wondering if the Dapu middrive motor is okay as I haven't heard of it til now. Seems it is a Japanese company with factories in China. The price of the bike...

    sport mode

Check out this youtube vid on the CCS LCD display - Starting at 10:45 it goes into how to get into the settings mode. From there, go to NDW where you can adjust the assist level. Change it so that it will go up to 'S' mode. Your bike may have been restricted depending on which country you are...

    Cycling Cameras for safety suggestion

I was thinking that as well! Also, if you looked down at your cellphone, wouldn't the rear camera on the helmet then face up? But, then a lot of people have some form of cellphone holder... a distraction not matter what it shows. Rider take care I guess.

    Cycling Cameras for safety suggestion

Have seen this new helmet based camera system come out last week... https://cyclevision.com.au/products/cyclevision-edge-helmet Looks good and rear camera can be watched via your cellphone wi-fi system while mounted on handlebars, but is also expensive. I use the Cycliq front camera/light...

    Bike Seat

I like the Brooks saddles; but, they do take a long time to 'break in'. Sometime around 500 miles! Not a quick solution, but once broken in, are good. They need to be looked after with saddle cream don't like to be left in the rain.

Tube size issues - double ended tubes

I tried the Gaadi tube on my 700C wheels and got the correct wheel size, but one size smaller in the tube diameter as they didn't have the exact size. Worked okay for a while, but then got a hole at the end of the tube. Couldn't patch there; had to throw it out. I have the correct size now, but...

What mirror do you use on your CrossCurrent S?

I use one by Blackburn, www.amazon.com/Blackburn-Multi-Mirror-Bike/dp/B000BNZ0NI . I had to change the grips to ones with the endcap removable (I got a set with included barends). It folds in to give the bike a narrower profile. Have never tried the helmet mounted mirror, but looks interesting also.

Your Feeling about Using 'No Trespass' Private/Gov Trails

Private, maybe not... but seem to remember reading about a speech about 'government' being 'of the people, by the people, for the people...' so, if you are a people person, 'government property' is your property anyway, go for it... just remind any government employee who asks about you being...

Fitting water bottle on medium CCX & extending rear light - 3D printing

That rear extension mount looks like it could work with this light/camera combo... https://cycliq.com/bike-cameras/fly6ce/ Would like to get it, but the light/camera is too long to go directly onto the CCS rack.

    U-lock mount?

Have been wondering that myself... I think some people use zipties to put it on, but looks a little untidy. I haven't found one to try out yet. (Sorry, was thinking about a different sort of lock!) Disregard the ziptie comment!

I'm curious...for those of you who leave your bike locked for an hour or more, do you remove the battery and take it with you?

Generally don't, but have been lately when at the Mall as it's been so hot. Having the only ebike of it's brand in my area (that I know of), probably makes just the battery useless to anyone else anyway. Would like to be able to remove the LCD control / display though. Sometimes worried someone...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

I have the 48V 21 Ah battery... but was aiming for an all day ride, not speed, so changed where the assist cuts out at. ie. set assist up to 25 kph most of ride. Anything above that (which was most of ride down a long river valley) was me. Usually set assist to 30 kph most of the time anyway...

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Near Nelson, New Zealand... Longest ride so far for me... 137km. Ferry goes from Mapua to Rabbit Island as part of local trail network; Tunnel is part of old railway from late 1800's (stll soot on the wall!).

Has anyone gone from the 48v 12.8ah to the 52v 19.2ah on the CCS?

Does anything else besides the battery need to be changed to go from a 48v battery to a 52v battery? ie. controler. I have a CCS with 48v 21Ah battery, but would like to get a 52v battery one day (if I can find a way to buy one and ship to New Zealand!) Thank you!

Looking to get a Thudbuster LT for CCS. Unsure what size diameter for seatpost?

The seatpost is 27.2.... Have been looking at a suspension seatpost as well. The Suntour SP12 NCX Seatpost. I use a Brooks b-17 saddle and think the saddle rails will hit the top of the suspension seatpost as the rails are narrow... still thinking about what one to get.

Why did Tora stop using dealers to sell bikes?

Hi Kam1952... Just wondering what part of New Zealand you are in? I Also have a CCS and am in Nelson area. Probably have the only Juiced bike here! Got my bike from Christchurch. A bit concerned when I need a major part replaced! Love the bike and it's going well. Would like Juiced Bikes to ship...

Juiced Bikes CrossCurrent S Fender Help

Hi Lenny. I had the same problem. I moved the plastic clips a little higher to give more back/forward clearance, but not so high that your foot hits it when turning. I think I slightly twistined one wire out a bit and the other wire in a bit. Maybe loosen the connection to the fork first then...

Dealing with rear wheel tire punctures

Thank you, Nova, for that website. I haven't come across it before. I used a Gaadi tube that was one size down as I couldn't find the extact size. Tube lasted a 200 or so miles before one end split. Have got a regular tube in now, but will try another Gaadi tube at the correct size! Still, was...

First Post: Pannier/ water bottle recommendations for Cross Current S.

I also use the Ortlieb panniers on the CCS. I have the 'L' frame. The large pannier is very close to my heals when peddling, so will try to get it a little further back on the rack sometime. I can't get a waterbottle into a regular bottle cage on the bike (I have the 21amp bat., same physical...

    Charging etiquette

I've never measured how much power that battery takes to charge, must do that! Security while charging is my main issue when at campgrounds. Most campgrounds, here, have complete kitchens so wouldn't be charging in a bathroom anyway. Could alway charge while cooking meals! Thank you for all of...
