2017 Raleigh Kodiak 1 full suspension 27.5 plus bike with 750w TSDZ2 mid drive and rear rack dog carrier

Well the welds let go on the aluminum rack last week where the upper rack struts meet the rack, thankfully the emergency hd cable tie between the carrier and seat did it's job and kept the carrier upright until we could get home. I have since removed the rack and threw it away. We now have heavy...

2017 Raleigh Kodiak 1 full suspension 27.5 plus bike with 750w TSDZ2 mid drive and rear rack dog carrier

No he stays put. The setup is originally from our motorcycle but the height of the box was reduced to reduce the weight. The trick is that you need a good harness with a loop over the middle of his back. Then a strap goes from the middle of the box on one side, across his back and through the...

2017 Raleigh Kodiak 1 full suspension 27.5 plus bike with 750w TSDZ2 mid drive and rear rack dog carrier

Thank you. I doubt the shark battery would fit inside the triangle. It does not look like any batteries inside plastic or metal cases will fit in there. Perhaps an xl frame will have more room inside than my large though. I was thinking about putting a battery underneath my lower bar too...

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Rent a bike for months and months every time you go to a different country, or to move? Your statement may apply to short term vacationers but not for people that travel or move for long periods of time. A laptop pc has almost the same size battery, yet why not tell them to send them as cargo...

2017 Raleigh Kodiak 1 full suspension 27.5 plus bike with 750w TSDZ2 mid drive and rear rack dog carrier

Hi, I figured I would make this thread in case anyone is interested in converting a Raleigh Kodiak 27.5 plus bike to mid drive. These bikes were apparently discontinued by Raleigh and can be bought fairly cheap if you can find one. It has a 73mm bb and the tsdz2 fits well. With the 42 tooth...

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Well I have been looking into this issue and I may have found a solution. It seams the best way may be to build a battery pack with "removable cells" like they use in consumer electronic devices. An example would be a 14s2p configuration using high discharge 18650s. This configuration could...

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Sorry, I am very new to this ebike thing. Is it possible to run an ebike (say a bbso2 mid drive) off a 36v battery with only 2.6ah? We are moving to europe but I would like to build the bike before we go since it needs to be adapted to carry a dog too. I was thinking I could power it with one of...

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

Eeeks that would suck with a $400 battery :( I wonder if there are restrictions on taking batteries on cruise ships like the QM2.

Flying with Electric Bike Batteries? Tips and Advice

I am curious, if the battery were discharged completely before getting onboard or before shipping wouldn't it then be safe? If the energy buildup is the fire hazard why not just drain the energy out beforehand?
