Will EBikeshare Replace EBike Ownership For Most People in Cities?

Hey mate. Interesting but no I don’t think rent an ebike will go off. Folk who don’t wish to just blob-out in a container of some sort and be transported, that is, people who might get on an ebike, for instance, me ...well I just don’t think I.d rent some not great, hopefully maintained, shared...

Pain in the neck and back, wrong frame size?

Actually something else about high vs flat bars - my wife and I actually have two (originally identical) e-mtb's - my wife's is still stock and taking that out for a ride I'm also struck by the absurdly twitchy - sharp steering which (again) is a consequence of the standard flat bars making the...

Pain in the neck and back, wrong frame size?

Dmitri I couldn't agree more. and need I say my bike has that cough 'idiotic' look to it (lol) - but since we are all hopeless slaves to fasion - and just like flared trousers and platform shoes, which look ridiculous ...until they're in fasion ...and then look brilliant - so too will full...

Pain in the neck and back, wrong frame size?

Sounds good, do you mean you have an e-mtb too which you have done that to? ..haha and I checked those bars out, could you imagine going higher? See I reckon there's a corollary with the current motorcycle world where there's arguably a new thing, 120 min hp sticky tyred, big braked ...trail...

Pain in the neck and back, wrong frame size?

I really don't think you guys, (Will and John) are looking out enough. John I'm sure the fitting did as you say but all of the fitting malarchy just fades to nothing when you get higher bars and and a big padded comfy seat. Sure the seat height, tilt and longtitudinal position makes a difference...

Pain in the neck and back, wrong frame size?

A lot about seats there, a lot about nuanced fittings, incremental bar height changes ...I can't help but think this is all a hang over from unpowered bicycles - e bikes and especially e mtb's are a different thing - like the first motor cars were 'designed' or naurally looked like a horse...

Pain in the neck and back, wrong frame size?

Hi, I too had severe neck and back pain, partcularly the neck, the cause was the crouched over position mandated by my e-mtb's flat bars. I think the styling and therefore the ride position of e-mtb's is a mostly pointless continuation of their non powered mtb roots, specifically the bent...

bosch system vs Shimano? E bike suggestion

Hi - I'm mid fifties too, I've got a bosch powered Lapierre full suspension mountain bike (FC900 overvolt) which I changed somewhat with raised bars (I put bmx bars on) and a serfas super comfy seat. The high bars did a perfect job of eliminating back and neck aggravation and pain, and the seat...

Perhaps uncommon mods to my Bosch powered FS900 Lapierre

Oh rich by bunny hop do you mean - bounce down on suspension and then lift up and kind of launch that way - yeah that I can do and do do , - the standing position with higher bars is a delight crouch jump whatever its lovely. (I was thinking above perhaps you meant that fancy lift the front and...

Perhaps uncommon mods to my Bosch powered FS900 Lapierre

Hey rich, re the fatigue and altered stresses, the forces don't strike me as all that different and likely in fact reduced. Stock there is a 4" levered bar attachment point ahead of the steering stem - that moment is reduced to 2". Further the average forces applied in that moment are reduced...

Perhaps uncommon mods to my Bosch powered FS900 Lapierre

Hi, a forum noob here, first post :) I just wish to rave about how darn good my e-mtb bike is. I've done a few mods to it which I I reckon are awesome but possibly not all that common. I'm getting on in years (fifty cough cough) but have always ridden bikes and motorcycles both on and off...
