Harry - thanks for the info. I can ride the bike for a short while with power, using the throttle. Then it cuts off. I reset the key from ON to OFF to ON and there is power again for a shorter while. And so on a couple times more until no power at all. The backward test does not do anything...

As far as I can tell, the magnet must be inside the sealed rear wheel hub. The wires go to the post of the axle, then disappear into the middle. Forgive me if I am missing something obvious. I'm a total ebike novice here
