Not as many E20 followed by E10 errors (still occur from time to time) but now power shuts off when I go over bumps. Anyone else had this?

Hi Jen I feel your pain as my bike shop tells me mine is the only one with any problems. It is definitely a contact issue as mine will throw the same error sequence if battery not seated properly or sometimes when riding over bumps. I’ll try the dielectric grease idea too.

Cleaned pins with a toothbrush and Sensodyne toothpaste ( didn’t have metal cleaner). Reinstalled battery and no errors for 3 rides now and counting. Plus, my bike and I have bright smiles now. Toothbrush tastes a little gritty now, though! Lol

Oh...and another thing. I am struggling to understand why Shimano can’t come up with a solution for all of us struggling with these issues?? And, where is Trek in this whole matter. I don’t understand why they just wash their hands of any responsibility. Perhaps a class action lawsuit would...

Back again. New battery didn’t solve the problem. Talked with a tech today at Landis Cyclery in Tempe, Az today. He says only time it would throw that error sequence is when controller detects a short or drop in voltage/amperage. He thinks there is a problem inside motor. Before I send it away...

Agree Dave. I got a new battery this week that fits in terminal block much better. So far so good.

LBS told me that Shimano said they had never seen E020 followed by E010 errors. You and me and others have these problems. I think wr need all to contact Shimano and get them to resolve this???

No. Im still struggling to resolve this. Going to try a different battery....not really confident that will solve the problem. LBS took apart motor. No loose connections. I may demand a new bike if this continues. Very frustrating.

Hi Peter I continue to have E020 followed by E10 errors. LBS talked with Shimano. Shimano says its a connection problem between battery and motor They have asked the LBS to open up motor to check connections. Ill let you know what i find out. Larry

I bot same bike DS+ in March of 2017 in Utah and have same problem. Talked to Trek on phone who told me to take it to LBS for firmware update. Also told me they may charge me for labor as Trek warranty doesnt cover that. Really... i pay $3000 US, the bike doesnt work properly, and the guy has...
