    Faulty Charger

I have a Stromer ST 1 and three batteries. Today when I hooked the charger up to a battery, turned switch on, got red light, then yellow light and immediately a green light. This occurs with all three batteries. Is my charger toast?

    ST 1 error code

Has anyone encountered a "ICCURR" error code on a Stromer ST 1. Riding along yesterday at 18mph in ECO mode and all of a sudden the bike comes to an abrupt stop like it went into RECOUP 2 mode. Turned off display and back on and display shows normal info but no assist, in fact, there is so much...

How big a problem is a heavier e bike in reality?

I have an ST 1 with rack and battery and have no problem putting it on a Kuat NV rack on the back of my Toyota Corolla. The secret is you can position the front wheel on the rack and lift the back wheel into the cradle. I'm 70 years old and 140 lbs. so if I can do it so can you.

1st ride on new ST2 got heat warning??

I have a 2014 ST-1 and have the same issue. I ride in the north Georgia mountains and on one particular climb, 7 miles, 1800' vertical gain, 14% grade in places, I always get a HEAT message. Talked to tech support in San Diego and they feel this is not a malfunction but simply making the motor...

Assistance levels 2 to 4 makes no difference – Stromer ST1

The % difference is greater from ECO to CITY so you feel it more. Do this test. Go to your big chain ring and smallest cog on your cassette and start pedaling in ECO mode, switch to CITY, switch to TOUR, switch to POWER- you will feel the difference. You have to apply pedal effort before the...

Flat tires - how much of a problem should I expect?

Two flats in 9800 miles, pretty lucky for road riding. I carry slime with me. When I get a flat, I remove the stem core, squeeze in 8 oz. of slime, screw the stem core back in and spin the tire to distribute the slime. This has worked every time, one flat being a roofing nail (not a micro...

    Cadence

Sensitivity code on a ST-1 is 1004. You can set from 10 to 90 value. I use 40. I try to keep my cadence between 75 - 80. My cadence climbing, esp. on a steep grade (6% or more) is usually a little lower than my goal. You should try to keep as close to your goal as possible. Same with...

    Cadence

Any of us who have come from a manually pedaled bike are very sensitive to cadence. I have found if you lower your sensitivity value to 30-40 you will develop a cadence that will be close to that of a manual pedaled bike . This is a great advantage to helping you develop a consistence pedal...

Questions about torgue and speed ST2

Most of us are"mashers". We push on the down pedal stroke and coast on the up stroke. Practice by pulling on the up stroke while pushing lightly on the down stroke. You will find the more consistent your stroke thru the full 360 degree circle, the lurching you are experiencing will be...

    Water resistance

After 9000 miles , probably 300 in the rain, no problems except the display is not waterproof, it will fog up for several days after you were riding in the rain. Good suggestion to carry a ziplock bag to cover the display in case of rain. Otherwise, no issues.

    Transporting a Stromer ST - 1

I use the Kuat 4 bike carrier with a Stromer ST-1, one road bike and two mountain bikes. The rack is rated for 60 pound bikes as long as you have a solid 2" hitch.

    Wheel size setting

Does anyone know if there is a code to reset your wheel size. I've gone to a much narrow tire and my speed and distance are not correct. I use a Garmin Edge for navigation, speed and distance but I like both computers to match. Thanks in advance

    garmin edge 1000

My wife and I each have the Garmin 800. We love them. The 1000 has bluetooth for uploading your rides to Garmin Connect or Strava, otherwise they both have the same features. You can save a little and not buy the bundle, esp if you already have a HR strap and a speed/cadence sensor. Open map...

Recommendation on tires for Stromer ST 1

I have 8000 miles on my ST 1 and my original tires are starting to show wear. I am amazed and confused with all the different Schwalbe tires available for ebikes. Race Guard, Green Guard, Performance Guard, Marathon, Marathon Plus. I ride hard surface only and in the mountains the descents can...

Stromer Dealer in Central or South Florida

I'm having issues with my one year old Stromer ST 1 Platinum. Either controller, torque sensor or motor, tech guys in San Diego aren't sure. Does anyone know of a good Stromer shop in central or south Florida to have some warranty work done? Thanks in advance for any help

    PROBLEM WITH DISPLAY ST1

I have been having the same problem. Sometimes the controller will not display at all or when it does it's showing incorrect battery levels. Also sometimes shows it's in "recoup" mode when it's not but the pedaling with assist seems normal no matter what the display is showing. Not sure what...
