Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Hi folks - following on from my early request for advice, the suggestion that I received from a member proved correct. A stiff link was sorted with just a wee drop of oil. The shop that supplied the bike and claimed to have searched for the problem and found no fault whatsoever, probably relied...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Lots for me to think about folks, thank you. My intention was to give the bike a good workout during a holiday next month. However, a very recent minor hospital procedure means that I should not ride off-road for the next six weeks or so. The best laid plans etc! I will be back with comments later.

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

This conversation could go on forever! We live in Strath Spey which is not too far from Skye or many parts of the north and west of Scotland. I had totally forgotten the Hobbs bikes. Mine was a hand-built Holdsworth with all components especially selected and fitted by me of course. Such a...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

The Scott Flying Squirrel - now that really was a bike! My last Land Rover was a former military Lightweight which had been converted to gas fuel. It was okay but rather noisy, cold and not too reliable but good for towing our caravan across to Skye. Lots of maintenance required which...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Bikes were so easy to maintain and understand not so very long ago. Whith this bike I was given two explanatory handbooks and a DVD. If I did not need an Ebike to get me back on two wheels I would still be off-roading on my Scott which I really liked.

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Hi Piper, Thank you for your interest in the problem that I have described. I think that your suggestion roughly describes what I have been experiencing. I will be out on the bike later this week and will be trying to reproduce what I consider to be a problem and will post what happened.

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Hi Jay - thank you for your interest. What I am attempting to describe is not a sudden loss of power but total lack of resistance for a few degrees of crank rotation before the drive is taken up again. If I were free-wheeling, I would expect a slight delay before the drive is taken up but this...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Thank you for your interst folks. Does not appear to be caused by the possibilities mentioned. I appreciate that there will be a very slight delay in take up when going from free-wheeling to applying pressure to the pedals but the movement that I have attempted to describe is not this. If the...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Thank you for your suggestion Paul. The dealer checked the chains for wear and they were fine. In fact with so little mileage, I would not have expected otherwise. Back in the old days when cotter pins were used to secure the cranks to the bottom bracket spindle, slight wear on one of these...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

What I can't understand is the feeling that the crank moves freely for a few degrees without engaginging. Should the take-up not be smooth? Also, what does it occur every four or five revolutions of the crank when the same pressure is being applied. Furthermore, why has it just manifested itself...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

Thank you, Tallpaul. I'm not sure if it is a delay that I am experiencing but this is certainly what the supplier of the bike is suggesting. My concern is that this delay, or whatever it is, was not noticeable when I first used the bike both on roads and on rough tracks. My wife has a similar...

Hi folks. Is this where I can get advice about my Haibike?

I own a hard tail, electric Haibike mountain bike. This has done less than 500 miles and appears to have developed a fault. It has been returned to the dealer for servicing and also to have this fault checked out. It is difficult to actually describe the fault but here goes. This typically...
