    Why do people hate cyclists?

I ride 50 miles a day throughout Philadelphia, you'd be hard pressed to find a cyclist that comes to a complete stop EVER. It doesn't make sense to stop when you can see 100+ feet down every direction at a 4-way stop. Treating stop signs as yield signs is sometimes referred to as the Idaho...

That's cool. I'd be interested to see how to check. I really hate spending time at my LBS been there too many times. I am in the process of teaching myself how to repair 90% of what I'll run into. Changed the brake pads myself for the first time which was really easy, it was easy to bed them...

    Hardtail 29 sizing

That is fine as a generalization, but you should check the standover height and measure your inseam. My bike is a Small frame, 49cm, and I am only 5'7. I can't stand over the bike without the top tube being all up in my space if you know what I mean. I really wanted the bike so I just got the...

If you find a way to measure the NuVinci gear ratio please let me know, this wasn't something my LBS mentioned so I don't know if its possible. I would definitely ask R&M at first to start, but from my limited knowledge of R&M, I don't think they would approve any changes to the geometry of the...

Oh yeah and also, if you too see your cadence being at about 85rpm at 26-27mph, then I would go with the different chain ring sizes. If you are spinning faster than that at 26mph+, then please get someone who knows what they're doing to fix your Nuvinci.

Why the high end gear ratio of the Nuvinci is not ideal, I think it is enough. After reading your post I opened up the Nyon Fitness screen with the Cadence readout and found that the cadence in the highest gear ratio required to maintain 26.5-27mph was 85 for me. If yours is significantly more...

I see what you mean now with the gear ratio. You definitely feel that a higher gear in Turbo at 28mph would be better, in Tour it is better. You can also track your fitness by watching the Wh/mi current and average usage. It resets for each ride and updates while riding so you can say for...

I can give you some more information on installing it and the implications. This will be what I've heard from Bosch dealers. When I installed my kit, it was quite easy. Because I was worried about messing with the wires, the first thing I did was slide off my Intuvia and slide on the Nyon...

I forgot one other thing. I don't really use the Custom Riding Mode option, but you would probably benefit from it. I have a lot of battery and mostly use Turbo. I ride quite fast the majority of the time, so it will still be a workout in Turbo. With averaging a lower speed, and not having...

**I added this paragraph as an afterthought and added it to the top. With the Intuvia, I took mine off at 900 miles. When I take MY Intuvia and put it on my girlfriends bike, it will read out like 130 miles, which is her total amount traveled. However, when I installed my Nyon, it reset the...

Yeah the battery stats are cool, you get an exact percentage and there are stats that tell you how many watt hours of power your using and how much you use on average. There are a lot more stats that I never looked at before. I do like too that the Nyon syncs to my phone instantly and my...

    Security

Yeah with that layered approach you described initially, no ones stealing your bike thats for sure. Your way is clearly successful since you still have your bike! I unfortunately am in a high theft city, so I wanted to do the best possible I could. I really appreciate the Pitlock bolts and...

Very nice post. You do a lot to secure your bike. I've heard nothing but bad things about the Boomerang, and given Court's video demonstration of it, it is pretty awful. I hope when I get my Sherlock tracker in a couple weeks that it works the way it was advertised, it is far cheaper than the...

My girlfriend and I each have Riese and Mullers. For security, I purchased 3 Abus locks. The Granit Extreme Motorcycle U-Lock https://mobilesecurity.abus.com/eng/bike/products/view/granit-extreme-59-10-2-2-bike On the site you can also find the Granit Extreme motorcycle integrated chain lock...

The Panzer Has Arrived - Review Of New Charger GX Touring

Sport and Turbo really have no noticeable difference for my bike. That's why if my range in Turbo says 50, my range in Sport only says like 54. But Tour would say more like 90 miles range, and then Eco jumps it to 140 miles. The slim difference between Sport and Turbo can be seen in the...

The Panzer Has Arrived - Review Of New Charger GX Touring

I have the Nyon on my bike, and I suggest you get one when you get your new bike since you are in the EU. With the Nyon, they let you change how the assistance level works. You get a line graph of Motor Assist % and Speed, you can make 4 custom modes with specific power outputs at specific...

Hey, sorry to hear your boomerang died. I actually have not received my tracker yet but should be within the next couple weeks. My last update said it will be sent End of May/Early June. I ordered 2 of them, 1 for each R&M. I will let you know how it goes, when I get it I will certainly test...

I enjoyed reading everything you wrote. I am glad I got the NuVinci, but only because of my riding stlye. The Rohloff is definitely better. I use the bike for going to a number of destinations around the city and I like to get done quickly, so I am constantly shifting as I ride around very...

Glad to hear that! It feels nice when everything is running smooth. It sounds like you had a nice ride, despite the lack of fellow cyclists on your route. Wind can be a real battery drainer that's for sure
