Never thought I would build an ebike..

But after 4 yrs and 8,000+ km here we go. Just replaced my 14.5 Ah battery on my 2019 Voltbike Bravo with a 48 volt 25 Ah 21700 Samsung cells battery. Sunringle MTX 27.5" rim with 1248 watt motor and 26 amp controller is going in this weekend...

    Voltbike Bravo....1 year later review

Well, 5000 km and 1 yr later, here are my thoughts. A great entry level mountain ebike. Solid on both road and trails. Only issues...a cadence sensor that quit and was covered by warranty. Stripped cranks which I replaced. DO NOT USE THE MULTI TOOL THAT COMES WITH THE BIKE TO INSTALL...

I rode my 1st mid drive today...

Lot of features for a $2,799 CDN ebike. Suspension seat post, 11 speed, Panasonic 36V battery, hydraulic disk brakes, 250 watt mid drive motor, colour display. Had not heard of this Canadian company before but was impressed how much lighter the Blulans X5 mountain ebike was compared to my rear...

    CST BFT Tires

After 1 year and 5,000 km it's time to replace the rear tire on my Voltbike Bravo. Stock tire was a Kenda 27.5 x 2.1. Switching to a more aggressive tread and slightly wider CST BFT 27.5 x 2.25. Great price point on this brand . https://www.csttires.com

    The Dilemma.....

Having moved from my cottage to a 3rd floor apt. uptown I can no longer wheel my bike inside. Was able to find renters insurance that covers ebikes up to $3,000 without adding a rider. So now my precious ebike spends its nights in a little fenced in area under the back stairs. Going to add a...

How many of you park inside the home?

I live live in a cottage with no garage and my Ebike sits just inside the front door. A little messy in winter but my dog Ben has not complained....

    Online Purchase Warranty Service

Have read a lot on this forum about how you are on your own with regards to online purchases. Especially when it comes to replacement parts and warranty service. Had an issue with my PAS no longer working on my Voltbike Bravo. Throttle still worked tho. Chris at Voltbike quickly responded to...

    Giro goggles

Giro goggles for winter fit great and the venting means no fogging up.

    3M Glasses...

So far the best I have found. Foam rims seal against your face and the vents stop the lens from fogging.

    Voltbike Growth

Voltbike Canada just announced their move to a 15,000 sq ft. warehouse facility with 4 loading docks that will allow them to double their staff. Personally I love their Ambassador program that makes me $100 for every test ride I provide that results in a sale...$300 so far. Looks like they are...

    Technically an Ebike or not???

Definitely not road legal, but does have pedals and would make an interesting offroad ride. 8,000 Watts, 95 kph, 120 km range, 72 volt, 40 Ah battery, 190 NM torque and $7,500 CDN from Markava in Quebec...

    Crank Arm/ Pedal Repair

So I tried using JB Weld to repair my stripped crank arms but that only lasted a few days before the pedals fell off. So I ordered a crank puller and removed the cranks and drilled and tapped both pedal spindles. JB Welded the pedals back on and then installed stainless hex bolt with 2 flat...

My Thoughts on Mid Drive..Hub Drive and Throttle

Just a first time owners 2 cents worth. Last Sat as I arrived to work my left pedal fell off. Thinking no big deal as they had loosened a few times previously and I had always been able to tighten them. Well after 1,300 km this time I realized the aluminum crank was stripped. If not for the...

    Using a New Chain Lube...

Decided to give this a try as I like the specs.. It is an industrial chain and sprocket lube by Class C Solutions Group so might be hard to source. * Super penetration without running, and encapsulates links, tight fitting pins and rollers. * Leaves an ionized film that resists throw-off from...
