A good stuff, and inexpensive! The point is, regular sugar is not immediately absorbed by the human body. Specifically, not by mine :)

Fuel! Just to change the subject. Posting this photo on my Facebook made several of my buddies sigh "You must be rich!" to which my answer was "Unfortunately, the fuel is expensive nowadays" :) Let me tell you a story. It was Sudovia Gravel 2025, a gravel race in extremely bad weather: very...

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

I carry two little plastic bags, each containing spare 11 or 12 speed master links in my tool bag on every ride. I just do not need to replace the link each time I reconnect the chain. This is similar to carrying spare inner tubes: what if the industry claimed inner tubes were not re-usable?

    The transition

Unrelated, but the Progress Camp of Poland (not any organisation but just a description) was declaring the share of LGBT+ in the Polish society as high as 30% in 2014. Bullshit but I knew what would happen next. 2015 and the thieving nationalists who claimed to be the Right took the power for...

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

The Quick Link becomes unusable only when one of the connecting pins has dropped out. I'm afraid your information is only based on a belief, Stomp.

I've just noticed your reply. X-Ray Spex*, Generation X**, Siouxsie & The Banshees*** belong to my top choice! I'm aware of all other names you mentioned (The Undertones being a Derry band, innit). --------- *) "Oh Bondage Up Yours!" (Some people say little girls should be seen but not...

The Heights 2 Group Ride Many pictures, a longer story! Five of us arrived in Łódź Fabryczna at 9:33 on cold and misty Saturday. The weather turned to beautiful soon! There was a little conflict of interest: Marek is a sports person and he loves fast rides with minimum stops. I had to explain...

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

Trust me. It is effortless with the TL-CN10. Both KMC and Shimano claim the master links are not re-usable. You know why? So you spend $8 for two of them.

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

Steve, I use the Shimano TL-CN10 tool to Remove/Connect both Shimano and KMC master links. Easy, effortless, sure. I see no technical reason why these two solid steel parts of the link should wear. Just saying.

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

It is what Shimano wants you to believe :) I pretty often remove the Quick Link, give the chain a decent shaking in a degreaser fluid and after all is washed with water and dried, I reconnect the chain with the same QL then lubricate the chain. I can see no reason why the QL could be single use...

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

"The electronic drivetrain creates as many problems as it solves" :) Please be aware Steve that the Di2 "sleeps" when not in use. The derailleur wakes up when pedalling has been detected, and it takes perhaps 100 yards of riding before that happens. Therefore, please end your rides with...

    Water Bottles

So it has been roughly 14 months since I bought a Camelbak M.U.L.E. 14 Pro hydration pack. Since I learned closing the lid of the bladder properly, the backpack became my companion on all rides when I would need water bottles otherwise. Even on hot a race day, I never needed replenishing the...

    Battle of Value MidDrive

Specialized bikes are made in Taiwan, Republic of China. A country as different from the continental China as New Mexico is different from Mexico. I was aware that some Americans were ignorant but it is not a surprise in case of our little Uma :D

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

Steve, here is the information from Bram Hoekstra, a Dutch bike mechanic: "You are right about the Shimano sprockets. I keep a drawer of them for XT and XTR, and the small cluster — the ten to twelve unit — is the same part across XTR, XT and SLX, which is the sort of thing that makes a mechanic...

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

Ah, clear now for the shifter kit. FYI, a new custom wheel made with DT Swiss high end components and Sapim spokes (rated at 180 kg or 400 lbs) cost US$300 at a wheel builder company here (including taxes). As I asked for another freehub body, that part cost 80 dollar extra. What saved me some...

getting a regular bike after my battery fails?

The smallest cogs on 12-speed Deore, XT and XTR are interchangeable. 860 dollar for a freehub is a weirdly high price. Could you tell me what your choice is?

American Customary (a.k.a Freedom) Units vs Imperial vs Metric

Once I was using a Polish satnav software called NaviExpert. I was to take a trip to a city perhaps 100 km away by expressway. NaviExpert estimated the time to some 4 hours. How come? The app knew there was a massive roadblock on the way and no chance for a detour...
