Dead as a doornail with fully charged battery

Influencer My bike is +80 pounds set up (I believe 77lbs w/21ah battery: net) and I have no problem with it when riding. It's efficient yet very powerful when needed and can climb a tree if asked. The ride is comfortable and suitable for many different terrains within reason and which I...

    Trek FX+ 2 or Trek Marlin+ 8 2nd gen?

Why would you think I hate you? You are a bit of a tool and used car salesman.. so that does make it easy to break them on you. 🙃 As for the op... If you are handy what pedal suggests isn't a bad way to start. I got into this with a diy build and it was an excellent learning experience that...

Dead as a doornail with fully charged battery

Figured you had... but you hadn't mentioned your methods. Some batteries do switch off when removed from the cradle.. thought there may be a chance it was that safety feature. Controller is probably the next logical step. Good luck.

Dead as a doornail with fully charged battery

You may have already checked this... but do you have full voltage at the battery discharge port with it removed? Do you have full battery voltage at the connector to the controller with the battery installed?

    Battery charger recommendations

Good call... Even with just a little bit of uncertainty raised... I'd throw a voltmeter on it to be sure. Many abnormalities coming from the wild wild East 🙃

    Battery charger recommendations

A 48v battery requires a 54.6v output charger. Are you able to achieve a full charge with your current charger? Very odd that the label states 48v output. There is no communication with your bms so you just need to match the connector.. and I'd keep it at the current amperage, low at 2 amp. 2.5a...

I hear you... It is a big investment as well. I just love the 1 to 1 chainline and ease of switching multiple gears

Anyone experienced a Bafang/Ultra mid-drive suddenly engaging FULL power regardless of PAS setting?

Holly s*it! Glad you're ok! I think you were prudent to eliminate the throttle to start. Could be that, wiring or as mentioned the controller. Don't think it would be the torque sensor as full output should still be regulated by the controller PAS setting. I hope you have the brake cut_outs...

Good going while it lasted. Perhaps an opportunity to look into an IGH? I absolutely love my Ultra paired with the Rohloff...but you may want to consider the newer 3x3. https://www.3x3.bike/en/system/

    Lithium ion battery best practice

If you're using the battery as little as you say then I would narrow the SOC range even further... Maybe something like 50/80. I ride similarly and use as little battery as possible... but I live in an area with a lot of hills. So I charge to 80 and after a typical 25mi ride I'm usually around...

Reliability of ebike motors. Let the arguments commence!

Speed sensor provides information to calculate speed. The odometer is a function of the display/controller using the same information. If the speed is correct, then the sensor is working correctly.

Reliability of ebike motors. Let the arguments commence!

True....they have a lot of history and much to be proud of. But in modern history they were stuck. Their position now is because of the west. Take the precision of the Bafang Throttle... manufactured in Poland 🙃

Reliability of ebike motors. Let the arguments commence!

Actually that's where they would be if we didn't open trade with them and allow them to steal and copy all our tech. We proved for over a century that we can manufacture everything... then greed took over.
