How to Make Your Bike Really Hard to Steal

My ebike is really dirty and some of the bolts and connectors look rusted... does that count?

It is improving. Walmart and Target are planning on putting fast chargers in their parking lots. All these deals with Tesla to adopt the NACS port means that all these non-Teslas will have access to their SuperCharging network. Range is pushing up from 300+ mi to 400+ mi and battery charging...

Tesla if you need to do.more than local driving... or rent an ICE. But infrastructure is improving and 18 minute 80% recharges are pretty good.

EVs are not just about ecology... they are quieter, cooler, roomier and less maintenence. Don't think I'll ever go back to ICE for the inconvenience alone.

I also disagree there is more maintenance with EV other than tires could wear out faster because of the weight and instant torque.

So I tried a 150kw charger today: So it was a much lower rate than on the 350kw charger. Still decent... I was able to go from 62% to 95% in half an hour. I just sat in my car and joined a webinar while I waited. The "cost" for this was $12.95 if I were not on the free plan.

Was this related to the AWS outage?

    Forums down?

Just weird that I couldn't find any topics about this outage so had to start one. I must visit EBR too much. :)

Was it just me or was the EBR forums down most of the day yesterday? I was getting EBR withdrawals.

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

That's the nice thing about most of our rides... dedicated paths for biking/walking and if next to a road... a blockade to separate vehicles from bikers. The one near the LA beaches is great, stretches from Torrance Beach all the way up to Marina Del Rey (and farther) but some parts have a...

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Yep... no smog on the coastal rides. The ones we do the most is Lebard Park to either HB/Bolsa Chica or Newport/end of Balboa, Back Bay loop with Crystal Cover or Newport, San Juan Capo to San Clemente, Seal Beach/Long Beach (technically LA County) and occasionally Salt Creek to Dana Point.

Known Issues & Problems with Espin Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

My front brake just went out (press the lever and no squeeze). REI guy thinks there is air in the hydraulic line and a bleed will fix it. We will see. Because I don't have a car with a hitch anymore, I've been taking the front wheel off and loading it into the back of my car... the guy thinks...

@GizmoEV Yeah... the new E-GMP vehicles (EV6, Ioniq 5) have fast charging as quick as Tesla. That's why I switched from the Y so I don't have to charge at home and now get those 2 free years of charging. I just "fuel" up every 2 weeks. I just need more EA DC chargers in my area.

How's the bike infrastructure where you ride?

Orange County, CA - 9/10 There are quite a few dedicated paved trails for biking in the OC. Some connect several cities and others go along almost the entire coastline. My group probably has 20 different rides we can get to within half an hour and can range from beach to valley to urban. Many...

Ok... finally tracked it today. Average was 180kw, max was 200kw (even found the Charging History section in my EA app to confirm the max). On average, I can get from 20ish% to 90ish% in the 30 minute free EA session. Up to 80% is always 18 minutes or less which rivals Tesla Supercharging...

Known Issues & Problems with Espin Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

From my experience, REI will work on any bike, ebike or not, REI brand or not. That's why I bought the membership there, much cheaper than my numerous LBS and mobile services for stuff like flats etc.

    Sport model by Espin discontinued

I recently got an EV without a hitch and have been taking the front wheel on/off the Sport and heaving it into the back cargo, so folding an XP may probably be the same effort. Even when I had the rack, putting the Sport on it was some effort (which is why I was looking for a lighter bike like...

Yes... still haven't found anything that compels me to replace it. Mine's getting old (I've probably rode thousands of miles because I bike every weekend at least 20-40miles) so I do need a new one... may finally try out the Lectric XP 3.0 since the new update has hydraulic brakes and I could...

Depends on who you lease with... the captive (Hyundai Financial) is not so good. Other banks may have better programs (and can apply the $7500 Fed credit because leasing has less restrictions for the lessor).
