    R1UP waterproofed wiring/connections on 700?

No, we do not remove the battery. She doesn't even take the battery key with her. If it's raining hard in the morning she drives instead. But when she had ridden home in the rain, we just park the bike in the garage; maybe next time I'll pop out the battery and see how much water got in there.

    R1UP waterproofed wiring/connections on 700?

My wife rides hers in the rain, including heavy showers a few times. She commutes to work with it. I'm her mechanic, and I've never given it a second thought until seeing this thread. But she's never had a problem due to water. She's had the bike since February. I did add some little plastic...

Just ordered Ride 1 up 700

I'm 5'9" and I can ride my wife's 700 ST comfortably. I like the swept-back handlebars. I agree with TMH, it is a great bike!

    Sceaming brakes

No need to swap the pads. You can do this with the old pads. If it doesn't work, try it again. If it still doesn't work, then you could swap the pads, scuff the discs with sandpaper, and try with the new pads.

    Sceaming brakes

Brake pads need to be "bedded" to the rotor (disc) to deposit brake pad material into all the nooks and crannies on the disc. The following is from SRAM: https://sram.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/226403747-What-is-the-bed-in-procedure-brake-preparation- When pads and rotors are new, they...

    First e-bike, 5'7", < 3k, big hills, commuter

My 5'2" wife commutes 9 miles round trip on a Ride1Up 700 ST. She likes it. It is a heavy bike, but she seems to handle it well. In the past couple years she has done a few triathlons but she was not much of a biker before that. I think the 700 is a great value, but with your higher budget, you...

How to get fast, steady acceleration from start on the 700

You can change how quickly the PAS kicks in, in the display software. The number of cadence magnets that are sensed before PAS starts can be changed. I think for this bike there are 12 magnets in the cadence sensor (which is round, so think of it like a clock), so if you set the PAS start to 12...

    Brake light?

They have a "tail light" that turns on when you turn on the headlight. If your tail light is not working, try reversing the wires. The tail light does not light up when you apply the brakes (in other words, it's not a brake light). Hope that helps.

    Looking for my First Ebike!

We have a Ride1Up 700 step through and a RadCity 16" frame. Very similar bikes, similar price, but the Ride1Up is by far the better bike.

Buying Ride 1 Up bikes online

Ride1up has always responded quickly to my emails (usually less than 12 hours). I had a few minor issues. The tail light was cracked upon receipt, and they sent me a new one right away. A bolt was stripped and they helped me fix that, and they helped me get the brake cut-out switch sorted out.

    Cargo capability

My wife has a 700 ST. The rack is rock-solid. She has panier bags on each side, but doesn't carry too much weight (a 10-lb. chain lock, lunch, rain gear, backpack, etc). The front hub is a quick release skewer.

Which is better? Rad Power Bikes or Ride 1 Up?

My wife has a Ride1Up 700 ST (step-through) and I have a 2017 RadCity 16". The Ride1Up is definitely the better bike. I'm 5'-9" with about a 32" inseam and I can ride the 700 ST comfortably. I don't see anything on the Ride1Up website that says 5'-7" is too tall for the step through.

RadRover 5 questions before I buy

My wife has a Ride1Up 700 (the step-through) and I have a 2017 RadCity I bought used recently. In my opinion, the Ride1Up 700 is a much better bike; hydraulic brakes, better tires, color LCD display, thumb throttle, cleaner wiring. Before I bought my used RadCity, I bought her new 700 after...

    Why no action here?

I bought one (700ST) for my wife a couple months ago, so she could ride it to work, about 9 miles round trip. She likes it, but we're working through an issue with the brake/motor cutoff sensor (Ride1Up support has been great). I also bought a used 2017 RadCity for myself. The Ride1Up is so much...

    700 ST questions

It is 3.35" wide near the top face of the down tube, and flares out to 3.75" close to where the battery attaches. I've only carried the bike on a car twice, for less than 5 miles, using this carrier. It worked fine. Roll over image to zoom in Swagman XC2 Hitch Mount Bike Rack

How Safe and Practical is the Used E-Bike Market :

I've bought two ebikes, both this year, one new and one used. The used one was sold by a family with two other ebikes of the same brand, and of course there is an odometer on the ebike so I know how much it was used. My only concern was the storage of the battery; I had to take their word for...

    What's a good price for 2017 RadCity?

Thanks for the replies. I am thinking of buying the bike. I would of course ask the seller about how the battery was stored. The ad's been up for a month. Figure I'll arm myself with pages of evidence (the first being Rad's website showing replacement batteries being $400 and unavailable) and...

    What's a good price for 2017 RadCity?

What is a good price for a barely used (68 miles) mid-2017 RadCity 16" bike? Looks great cosmetically. No extra battery.
