Strange wheel building on NCM Moskov

Still no reply from Leon? You've left me hanging, Oki, my spokes do the same as yours, and I'd like to know the answer.

    Fork 101

I've been dying to put a lighter air fork on my 29er and though I've not had it apart, was under the impression, by the specs that the stock fork is straight, but has a 1½" bottom bearing to fit the tapered head tube. That should mean a relatively easy upgrade to a tapered fork. I've been...

    Shifting issue

I agree you might be out of adjustment, maybe a little too much tension on the cable, you can microadjust at the shifter (there's a nob where the cable attaches). It may also have something to do with the shifter itself, I know you can go up and down up to 3 gears at once on the rear derailleur...

Securing extra battery to Moscow Plus

I've spent a great deal of time pondering this issue, and besides the cost of the battery, I've decided that if I go forward, I would not parallel a second battery. If you don't go marathon trekking every day, you're just weighing down the bike and reducing its efficiency. The beauty of getting...

NCM Moscow+ from 3x8 to 1x10 and it is awesome!

I've been thinking along the same lines, but don't have the resources to go big... I was considering going to a 1x9 using the same derailleur but replacing the freewheel and the shifter. I don't do any humongous hills so really don't need anything taller than 32T, and would end up with identical...

    NCM Moscow size

    It does... the 27.5 has a 19" frame, the 29 measures 20.5"

    Moscow Plus 29 inch recommendations

I agree with you about the ideal seat height for pedalling- downright scary when you come to a stop! The compromise is to bend a little more at the knee, so one doesn't tip over at the intersection. I'm considering getting a drop seat, but they're wicked pricey, and with this bike would have to...

    Handle bar Stem riser

I am a little wary of adjustable risers, having had one fail spectacularly with painful results... I swapped my stock riser out for a shorter (35mm) one, and actually removed my thinnest spacer, and found just having my handlebars a couple of inches closer took a lot of pressure off my hands...

Skinny higher pressure tires make a difference

I believe the "nubbiness" and extra weight of the Sams wastes a lot of energy. They feel squidgy when riding on pavement, and all that "traction" affects rolling resistance.

    Minimum Tire Width

I'm trying to resist swapping out the smart sams on my new Moscow+ and have been drooling over a pair of Vittoria Terreno dry's, looking to narrow to 29 x 2.10 from the stock 2.25". I want to go tubeless to save weight and improve rolling resistance. I wouldn't go any skinnier than 2.0"...

    BATTERY UPGRADE

    Yeah the ones I'm interested in are 52V but I see a 17.5AH 60V option that's intriguing...

    BATTERY UPGRADE

The NCR18650PF's chemistry is LiNiCOMnO2, I'm not sure that's what they're using in these aftermarket cases. As I stated in an earlier response, one of the industry pics shows purple wrapped cells, I don't know their origin or composition, there's a high incidence of counterfeit clones in China...

    BATTERY UPGRADE

It is listed at over 6kg so I believe they've made the case taller to accommodate more batteries while still fitting the mount...

New Moscow Plus - my mini review

I tried the wheel diameter hack and didn't notice an appreciable increase in top speed. I expected higher revs at top speed, because the motor would have to in order to reach max speed (20mph) with a real 20" wheel...

Moscow plus display on a regular Moscow

I'd like to point out that the stock replacement c7's are less than half the price of an "offroad" ones, the only difference being firmware...

    BATTERY UPGRADE

I'm seeing 21ah batteries everywhere now, I'd like the range, but the price? $1200 is a lot of cabbage! I've seen them as high as 27.2ah on Alibaba, for a whole lot less, but am leery of buying... They most certainly won't be Nickel Cobalt Manganese polymer.

    Ncm 29er tubeless?

I've seen somewhere from an NCM Q&A that moscow rims are not tubeless ready. I don't know if it's just nobody's tried, or that the rims are too cheap or old tech...
