This might prove interesting to those who plan to buy a bike...hopefully it won't just end up being a profit increase for sellers. https://electrek.co/2019/11/13/us-china-agree-end-trump-tariffs-electric-bikes/

My take on the whole seatpost thing? In the first part the seatpost is not a high quality or necessary item, in the second part those of us who bought the bike without the seatpost bought it for $100 or $200 cheaper so I think it's great that the newer purchasers get a small bonus for buying the...

There has been some interest in piggybacking an extra battery using the charge hole for a connection. This will not work with our system as our charger is rated for 2 amps and the cord connection might be rated for 4 or 5 amps maximum. Our motor is pulling anywhere up to 20 amps which will burn...

Lectric XP Ride and Range Reports

Hit the 600km mark today and the worst problem I've had with the bike is the charging port cover doesn't cover the hole! Where I live it's all hills and main roads so it's kind of ugly riding since I'm always in traffic. The hills are so steep that I often hit 50+kms(30mph) just rolling down...

It is jittery, Darceman likes to ride faster than almost anyone I've seen in the videos and many of his rides are after dark so smooth control becomes a big deal. The narrower bar makes the turning inputs much faster and I have a hard time keeping it straight with one hand but no real problems...

I haven't tried the XP seatpost but based on personal experience with what looked like the same seatpost I wouldn't want that pogo stick on my bike.

Here is a good video for those who are looking for batteries. The Aliexpress batteries I've seen have only a 20 amp continuous rating regardless of the amp/hour rating (explained in the video). I went to check the label on my batteries but I can't read the ratings plate on account of padding...

Heads up...this video claims that there will be a black friday sale on XP's for the original price of $799. I checked the website and found no mention of this price though.

Welcome to the forum, you can find all of the information you need in detail by using the search tab on the top right of the page, at least as much as we know. Here is how I carry my u-lock. I just spin it around and lock the bike to a rack by using the handle of the bike. This is just for a very short time while in a store or coffee shop, I would use this plus cables, chains, large vicious thugs or dogs for anything longer. If you carry a strap for...

Don't forget that you are on a "trail bike" and not a mountain bike while riding offroad. Attempting to go over logs can be quite painful on account of the little stand that is under the bottom bracket!

    Winter riding gear & tips

One thing I always carried in my bag when I commuted by bicycle was a simple paper grocery bag. It folds up to nothing and takes up no space in your bag, costs nothing and when it gets cold or windy you just unfold it and insert it under the front of your jacket to stop the wind from coming...

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B077Q9JXWW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Here is a vest I use that runs off a powerbank. The vest expands to fit almost everyone and can go from warm to very hot with 5 heat settings. I paid a lot less than this for mine but it is the same...

    Winter riding gear & tips

I bought these heated hand grips that get really warm and just run off a power bank. They don't fit very well over the original handgrips but one can use rubber bands or zip ties to hold them on temporarily. My model has no temperature control so I just plug them in or unplug them as I need...
