I finally took my ebike for a test ride.

Looks good. You could probably remove one more, but if you never plan to use the big-big crosschain set and you ride on bumpy surfaces, you should leave it there.

KMC will tell you that their one time use link can only be used once. I can tell you that I've used them twice before replacing them with a reusable link. Always use the proper pliers for each function. KMC only. Not SRAM or Shimano.

Watching the replay now, this finish is on what looks like a rail trail. Amazing. Buitrago in polka dots looking fantastic. Dunbar attacks and is bridging. Dunbar blows by him. Clinic. So great to see 3 ProTeam riders in the four man break for such an important stage. I'm cheering for...

Yes, and you can reuse the missing link at least once.

stompandgo's Pinarello Nytro E5 Allroad build thread

Unfortunately, the rear rack inserts in the seat stays have let go, even though I rarely rode with a load on the rack, and if so, no more than 5kg. The paint has also cracked around them. Pinarello approved our local carbon repair shop to fix it and retouch the paint. Once it's back, I'm going...

    Commuter Bike Setup

Look at a MIK compatible trunk bag with drop down panniers. I commuted with Topeak MTX, worked great. I could haul a weeks worth of clothing back and forth.

stompandgo's Cannondale Tesoro Neo X Speed build

I brought the Tesoro back to stock. All changes reversed including the carbon bars. I am keeping the Pinarello Nytro E5 Allroad. Updates coming in the Nytro thread.

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

    That's the thing these days.

I finally took my ebike for a test ride.

I would add 2-3 links. The rear derailleur cage, even on an entry level RD like an Acera, can do a decent job on the small-small combo with the cage tilted back at a 70 degree angle. It can handle more chain.

I can do for you what I did for Stefan. Post pics of your chain, including chainwheel and cassette, with the chain on the largest cassette cog, then the smallest. Make sure any derailleur clutch is off.

Awesome. We started racing at around the same time at the same level. I just have a problem with putting athletes on pedestals. Yes, sometimes their presence changes the race overall, and sometimes it doesn't. Saying that a certain rider would win if they hadn't crashed out is myopic. Even if...

    Just for fun...

It didn't even take a hurricane to wipe out my childhood home in CT, which was a block back from the beach. Superstorm Sandy along with full moon high tides and an inconsistent dune structure put six feet of water in the house, destroying it. The high winds make the news, but it's the flooding...

That's a full asterisk for the Vuelta, something I completely disagree with. Have you ever raced?

Mas +25s behind Roglic at 10km to go. Felix Gall out of second in GC. Roglic finishes 4th. Mas!!! Incredible ride. He only lost 33s to Roglic in GC. He will have a 1:37 lead when he starts tomorrow.

With two brutal climbing stages ahead, including the queen stage, I expect a number of support riders are not going to go all out in today's 32km flat ITT. Thornley is current;y in the hot seat at 35:25, at an average speed of around 55 km/h. Kung just hit 62 km/h. On the flat. Kung now in...

    Extender

I have a Pinarello Nytro E5 Allroad with an extender. The way it works is like this. The bike uses the extender first for the motor, but the display, lights, and other accessories are powered by the main battery. When the extender is depleted, there may be 99% remaining on the main battery...
