Another vote for the Bafang m620. As you’ve discovered, it’s the “Big Block“ of e-bike motors. Spare parts and spare motors freely available compared to other proprietary motors should there be any issues. And I’ve had zero issues with mine.

Too small. Change into the next gear and you immediately need to change again. Also mismatched for the top speed of the bike - virtually impossible to maintain top speed pedalling. You’re in top gear most of the time which is going to result in the smaller cogs wearing out sooner rather than later.

I use my Frey Beast to commute to work and love it after fitting a 48T chainring, but wasn’t a fan with the stock 40T chainring. Plush ride and dropper set post is handy. Magura brakes are awesome. I can‘t comment on the top speed with the throttle as I’ve never tried it as I don't really use...

i have the 1800 watt ultra in my Frey Beast 💪 I can’t imagine what 3000 watts would be like 💪💪

My Frey Beast has the NX cassette, with GX everything else. i dialled it in from new and haven’t had to make any further adjustments since. Can’t fault the shifts and it works very well on my bike.

The derailleur itself may have also lost tension which will be most obvious in the smallest cog. The Altus derailleurs are dirt cheap so maybe consider replacing this and having it properly aligned at the time of fitting. That chain also looks a little loose - largest cog would see the...
