KONA has a new Ebike & it looks cool

To get the lighting it would take a 30' scaffold with booms to get the lights from above. But the side lighting does not illuminate the background. So, yes, it is a fake photo and maybe AI. The crank and valve positions and saddle height are identical to this photo. Oh, and the gear it is in is...

KONA has a new Ebike & it looks cool

It has never been outside. And it cannot be pedaled because it has no pedals. The artificial lighting is great with the Armor All covered tires.

Playing what-ifs with an interactive power vs. speed model

Fluffy things fly. Here is what a butterfly wing looks like under a microscope: here are eagle feathers under a microscope: When I want to fly on a bike I have on Cashmere or Moreno wool. The little micro-vortices create a layer of aero smoothness that one can feel, regardless of the math...

Flat prevention response: Patrice, We worked in collaboration to create the best bike for you and its purpose. Those tires are so nice and have two layers of Kevlar. I put Muc-Off innertube sealant inside. Then carefully cleaned inside the stems and used some plumber’s grease so the O-rings...

She is a bike packer. That is the load. She faces two days of rain, one of humidity and one of fog, before two more of rain. Subject: Rainy day in Columbus, OH Hi Rick, I’m taking a weather day today. Do you feel like talking about tires and flats? A rider just a 1/2 day behind me had...

    e-trike retrofit for Gekko?

You cannot put a new chain on a worn cassette. It makes it worse. Keep cadence above 70 to tap into power. And pull back on the pedals, spin fast, smoothly and lightly, do not stomp. You are swimming with scuba fins to Valvalde, not stomping with clodhoppers to a jaw harp and gut bucket duo.

    e-trike retrofit for Gekko?

The cogs are worn. A standard 42-t chainring is great. It has a 10mm offset to bring in the chanin line. https://www.emotoer.com/chainring-for-tongsheng-tsdz2-motor/?srsltid=AfmBOopd6o6V6pWnWSnP2TdI0V7-28egB_Q0-Jv0YwlDtD3D0cpR6Dlp

    Anyone good at math?

Currently there is a war on science. Who needs climate data when it conflicts with idology? The same with research institutions such as the Smithsonian and Harvard.

    Anyone good at math?

In a blackhole? Or at the speed of light? I agree with @ChezCheese:). Reading novels everyday puts me in the minds of all types of other people. That has helped me to develop ''Theory of Mind'. It is something lacking and in demand in the Silicon Valley with interfaces and with product design...

    Anyone good at math?

I agree. Also things as basic a how much paint to buy. My office is by a dog park. I can see a border collie intently watch the snap of its human's wrist and start running. It will then leap into the air and catch the Frisbee. But what if you had to do those same calculations on a blackboard?

    Show Us a Tool

For years I have been puzzling on how to best keep a book open while for example, eating. I have tied wrenches with rubber grips on them, bars with rubber bands. Now I found how. It is simple. It is flexible on the contours and yet heavy enough to hold the pages open. Look mom, no hands! You can...

    Anyone good at math?

But in the real world it is not like a school workbook. I like it when there are not correct answers and the problems require creativity and new approaches others may never have considered. It is applied math. Estimating is a better skill in the real world than getting the correct answer on a...

    Anyone good at math?

What I did not like about math as a kid is that it was all about rote procedure and not about the bigger why and where this is going.

Ebike injuries growing exponentially in California

I tell parents with youth to take the CHP eBike safety class together and print the certificate at the end. Put it in a Ziplock taped under the saddle. If ever stopped they can take it out and show that they know the rules and techniques. The class is entertaining, fun, and informative. If the...
