    Vado SL 4.0 12-Speed Conversion

A bent derailleur hanger may make the gearing indexed by one full gear towards the frame. Same with an ill-indexed derailleur. Once, the derailleur hanger was bent on my SL. The chain dropped from the rear cog and -- as the chain was moving -- the chain dropped from the chainring too and got...

American Customary (a.k.a Freedom) Units vs Imperial vs Metric

Science uses the Metric system, even in the U.S. I do not need to remind you the Project Manhattan and later H-bomb were the German, Italian, Danish, Hungarian and Polish, with the Americans having had studied in Europe pre-WW2? :) Wernher von Braun, Niels Bohr, Enrico Fermi, Edward Teller or...

American Customary (a.k.a Freedom) Units vs Imperial vs Metric

How good the U.S. has standardised its units on the SI metric :)

    Vado SL 4.0 12-Speed Conversion

@rochrunner: As I can understand you had a chain drop recently? These are main reasons: Derailleur out of adjustment Bent derailleur hanger Inadequate chainring Stuck chain link. Yes I know you use a Praxis chainring, which is of the Wave proprietary pattern. Several users here complained on...

Entered My First Mountain Bike Race............with the Frey Beast

1470 Wh is an obscenely high battery capacity. Have just run some stats of mine: 118 km / 1,400 m elevation: 924 Wh (measured) 125 km / 1,700 m elevation: 981 Wh (measured) 68 km / 900 m: 608 Wh (as above) The main difference being: my rides above were all on road. Those were closed loops so...

Entered My First Mountain Bike Race............with the Frey Beast

Same in Poland on e-gravel "rallys" now. I have got several gold and silver in the past. I'm losing now to young people riding low-power lightweight gravel e-bikes. These guys ride unassisted at the high speed on the flat and descents and only use the assist on the climbs. I got a SUB 5 (hours)...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

As for my riding style, I only do the one click or the full press. I will set the long press to 2 cogs (it is now 3). No need for more where I'm riding! The shifting is as fast as I can repeat the action there in the hills if necessary.

I do fully comprehend the cultural difference! Also, your urge to banter whenever you can :) Love that 1977 song!

Entered My First Mountain Bike Race............with the Frey Beast

The organiser knows well you wouldn't ride for a long distance in the TURBO mode :) I wonder what e-bikes were ridden by the men on the podium.

    The transition

I'm buying my rare cigarette brand at a petrol station :) I also replenish snacks and beverages on my Sunday e-bike rides at the service stations :) The cost of riding an e-bike is as low as I can afford more expensive products :D

I would say a slightly bent derailleur hanger can still be handled by the Di2 derailer. The adjustment is -10 units in my case. What I dislike about the Shimano wireless is the shifter. In a higher class mechanical Shimano system, you can both push or pull the upshift lever. With Di2, you can...

It's hard to give a single reaction to your post :) Things do happen! I need to address a stereotype. We Poles do not smile, do not engage in small talk, are direct and appear to be rude. Become a friend as you have, and you have a friend in a Polish person. Even if we have never met in real life.

My total ride from Józefów to Warsaw-Stadium was planned to 64 miles :) I just stopped the recording at 63.0 mi by Gdański Bridge :) Aren't you moved with my gesture of friendship? :) As I made the 63, I decided to ride to WAW-City Centre instead of Stadium. I hoped to buy my rare R1 Slim Line...

63 Miles For Chargeride's 63rd Birthday Anniversary! ❤️ The original plan was to ride Mazovian gravel together with Marek and Tommy for over 130 km on Saturday. With two batteries on my Vado 6.0 (and taking 8 km commutes into account), I was on the verge of the battery range. What could go...

Wahoo ELEMNT Ace (on Specialized E-Bikes)

Wahoo has got a Polish translation What a shame. All texts must have been translated by a robot. The translation is terrible. The best example (English -> Polish -> English): KM TO GO -> KM NA WYNOS --> KM TAKE AWAY :D Keeping my Wahoo English!

American Customary (a.k.a Freedom) Units vs Imperial vs Metric

I didn't want to mention Canada because the nation is Metric but many units of measure of the neighbour are accepted. When I was in Canada (once), I was really surprised with the road distances in kilometres and the speedometers in kph (we call it km/h in Europe, by the way). The British are a...

    Bosch Hub Line

I'm confused. Is there the "intelligent sensor fusion" or just a cadence sensor? Bosch, the leader in mid-drive motors should know the sensor technology at best?

I usually do not offer birthday wishes to anyone as: Getting older sucks Birth day is a day like any other We should wish one another all the best on any single day and all year long! Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Regarding the proper chain length, I was unsure if I was sizing it right on the upgrade of my Vado SL Gen 1 to Shimano Di2 XTR (wireless) 12-speed. Fortunately, @stompandgo was as kind as to look at the pictures and advised shortening the chain. Thank you so much, Stomp! I have no experience...
