I’ve noticed that RideWithGPS is a great “logger” of my rides. Of course you have to remember to turn it on to record your ride. And, it’s also best if your don’t have your kickstand down when you do. ;) Oy… I’m an achey dude today.

It was stupid, Dave. Totally my bad. The kickstand is very welcome (usually) on Fättie because it helps with small repairs, etc. It’s designed not to fold up when you pedal (intentionally), but in this case I wish it did. :)

Road rash from today’s ride. I’m OK, but this is why I hate riding on blacktop! The moral of the story is put up the kickstand before making a left-hand turn!

I don’t know, JG… You could get some big air going over that cargo container on the train. :D

I’ll bet @PedalUma could build you one from an analog recumbent if you wanted. IIRC he was working on one recently.

The power connector on the rear chainstay that goes to the motor (it’s got a y-shaped divider) has a bunch of small pins on it. Double check that they’re all there and not mashed down. I don’t know exactly how they’re used, but I think they need to be there. Anyway, good luck. Try zooming...

Sounds like you’ve done a lot, olbriar. I have a spare RCS that I’ve pretty much cannibalized for parts and that has worked well for me for a couiple of years. But if the battery goes I’ll probably consider a different bike as that’s the only part I don’t have a spare for and I’ve destroyed two...

Hi olbriar, I got about 1000 miles on the upgraded controller before it started misbehaving and I replaced it back with the original. That has worked fine for over 2000 miles. Good luck. I hope that works for you.

Aventon has been shipping to Europe recently. I’d look at them @An Hatta if I were you. Good luck in the search for another eBike. Cheers from across the pond.

This is essentially the same type of system that Aventon has settled on in its newer bikes. True, but yet another thing to check… Batteries, batteries, batteries… Whatever happened to the self-winding watch? :D

Don’t forget about the handlebar shifter switch itself!

I think this is a really good point. Hopefully, in the future, all this stuff will be integrated by the manufacturer to run off the main battery. Yes, DIYers can always splice into existing wires/cables to draw power, but that is a hassle.
