    The transition

Hasn't this run its course? Nobody posting here is even qualified to Monday morning quarterback the Ukraine war. And, of course, the Ukraine war has nothing to do with the transition to electric vehicles. This just seems like an opportunity for people to vent their political frustrations...

Is her bike a belt drive fixie? It kind of looks like it from the video.

Strip new chain grease before lubing with Rock N Roll Gold?

I am not familiar with that lube, but with wax you have you clean the factory lube of first.

Strip new chain grease before lubing with Rock N Roll Gold?

I would say north of 2000 miles, but I don't really track the miles on the chains closely. I probably change the chain more often than needed. Chains are cheap and easy to replace. Probably the only time I give everything a real good cleaning is when I replace the chain and cassette.

Strip new chain grease before lubing with Rock N Roll Gold?

I would never strip the factory grease from a new chain unless I was going to go the paraffin route. Aftermarket lube won't penetrate like the first factory application. If you do want to strip it though, soak it in mineral spirits (paint thinner). You can save it and reuse it.

    E-Motos Vs. eBikes

The distinction is important, but you are preaching to the choir on this forum.

    E-Motos Vs. eBikes

Motorcycle fatalities per 100 million miles ridden are 30 times higher than automobiles. But bicycle deaths are high compared to cars also and 96% of bicycle deaths are a result of a car hitting them. You could make the same AI image about cyclists. The real issue is emotos masquerading as...

New Federal E-Bike Legislation March 2026

Except that it doesn't keep ebikes from being considered as transportation substitutes for cars. Poor bicycle infrastructure and cultural mindsets do that. And the further you get from dense urban areas, the less practical bicycles become for transportation.

I have a cat that likes to chew on my USB cables. I am sure that if he bit down on a live high voltage wire it would cure him of this bad habit.

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

My Garmin watch always reads high because it seems to be influenced by my body heat. Garmin used to sell an external temperature sensor called the Tempe that you could clip to your shoe or jacket, but they discontinued it. Maybe you could find one used on eBay if temperature is important to...

New Federal E-Bike Legislation March 2026

Because approximately 96% of all fatal bicycle accidents in the United States involve a collision with an automobile or other motor vehicle. Cars are the cause of most bicycle fatalities and nobody wants to ban cars.

Some people are obsessed with their looks and cosmetic surgery. It's a mental illness and doesn't always end well.

    Impotent Rambo Megatron

The advice to upgrade rather than fixing the bike was certainly predatory. The original problem was most likely just a loose connection and easy to fix.

That depends on the controller. Sometimes through a configuration mode on the display. Sometimes through a separate programming cable connected to a laptop or PC. Sometimes the manufacturer locks it down so that only they or their authorized dealers can program it.

    Impotent Rambo Megatron

If it feels underpowered compared to before the controller was replaced and the motors were not replaced, most likely the controller is limiting the motor current (phase amps). That could be a programming issue. It could also be that the battery is unable to supply enough power to the...

How hard can you push a Bafang Ultra motor

I am pretty sure that the Bafang Ultra has an internal temperature sensor to protect it from overheating. Riding it uphill in a high gear would stress it more than just going fast on the flat.

Are 750 watt ebikes actually legal?

I was not a fan of the auto bailouts. "Too big to fail" just means their lobbyists have spent a lot of their profits to buy politicians.
