On car and truck tires the date is molded in but you have to know how to read it. It sounds like the 2024 isn’t the date they were made.

Is the date code on the sidewall in your first group of pictures 2024? If so they aren’t old.

I rode 13 miles today. Another old tractor powering a grain auger caught my eye.

I had a similar click in mine. They put new pedals on and a new front chain ring. That fixed it and I’m not sure but I think the chain ring was the problem

I rode 14 miles yesterday and 17 today. The harvest is in full swing now mostly the corn but they are starting on soybeans too. The picture is a recently picked corn field.

I’m not sure what that means but it was my wife and and our two adult children, it wasn’t cheap.

I rode a little over 13 miles this morning. A picture of a solar farm that was recently completed and the road in front of it. The picture shows what is probably less than 10% of the panels. This time of the year the solar farm is surrounded by 8 foot high corn. Also a train that went past me.

I thought the same thing a few months back, a clicking and I thought the worst . They replaced my pedals and front chain ring. It was most likely the chain ring in my case.

Another technique that might help is starting from a dead stop in eco and as you get up to speed start turning up the assist.

Stefan is correct, if you keep your cadence a little higher it helps. Your body may also learn how to keep some of the jerkiness out of it too.

The Canadian smoke is much worse though, it smells like sweaty hockey gear and stale Molson. 😀

It’s a lot worse with a helmet on I discovered. I forgot my helmet once and figured it out pretty quick because of how much quieter it was.

I rode another 14 miles today. This picture is at the top of one of the steeper hills I ride up but it’s not very long. Looking down the rode you can see the waning gibbous moon starting to set.
