Tomorrow we head off for the High Trestle Trail in Iowa. The bikes are loaded on the back of my truck and ready to go. We are meeting my sister in law and her husband there.

Very hot and humid here, heat index hit 115 today. I did a short 11 mile ride before it got too hot. A picture of a windmill that still works but it’s just for show.

We rode 12 miles today to a nearby small town with an antique store. It’s only open on Saturdays.

I don’t think EV’s have a gearbox even. I saw on the news where a Tesla truck (a big rig) went off the road and caught fire along a busy mountain highway in California. They had to shut the highway down for several hours.

I rode 25 miles today on the rural road near our house. I saw some wild turkeys and had a freight train go by me.

I agree, unless you can get near an outlet a battery pack is the only thing I can think of. A cheap alternative is just a car battery and an inverter like someone posted above.

I rode 16 miles today and part of it through town. I stopped to take a break under a tree and it was in front of a nicely maintained and landscaped house.

I think that looks like a good choice. I think I would want a fairly powerful bike like that just because you don’t want to get to work tired and hot.

That retaining wall is made of test cylinders, the round things. Those are taken off a concrete truck into a plastic mold, allowed to cure, then broken normally to determine the strength of the concrete. Those were never broken but the plastic mold was removed.
