Stomp: How long does it take for your drivetrain to activate when you first start pedalling on the day? It can be several crank rotations or even 100 metres of the ride in my own case!

    2026 FIFA World Cup

I haven't read he news yet. The Argentine team facing a severe financial penalty? As if the British Royal family were English by descent :D I was for England. A great team until shooting the goal. The defensive tactic afterwards was doomed from the start.

    Pinarello Dealer Experience 2026

Very interesting report, Chris! I let it read some Polish friends who are important to me. A comment from a person I respect very much: "This park of demo bikes is probably bigger than the number of Pinarellos in Poland!"

I should have rather asked if the charging port was on the top or the bottom of the frame. My big Vado has the charging port on the battery in the upper part on the side, and it is protected by a magnetic flap. It has never happened for the charging port on any of my batteries to become soiled...

@Chargeride: I watched your Betws-y-Coed ride video last night. Can you charge your Levo with the battery inside the e-bike? Is there any flap on the charging socket?

Another photo from Varmia Gravel 2026 (and the matter of the saddle height) Photo courtesy Mateusz Klimek. How can you do harm to yourself? As you can see from the photo above, my right leg is in the properly extended position. I could watch another photo where I rather looked like a sitting...

Mazovian (En)grave(r) - A long gravel ride from Płock to home I apologise for the abundance of pictures! Płock -- a former capital city of the once mighty Duchy of Mazovia and the second largest city of the province (located on River Vistula) -- is close to my heart. My late wife was born...

Still on a long ride in West Mazovia... Only e-bikes in the Vistula Settlers' (Hauländer) Open Air Museum, Wiączemin Polski 😃 I made a detour for some pictures and met those fine people from Kutno.

    Cheers on the 4th!

Lurpak only sells butter in Poland. The spreads you mention are made domestically by hydrogenation of refined rapeseed or sunflower oil.

Thorpe, too. It has remained in German as Dorf. "By" or "byen" (with en as the) is still present in Danish. (In Norwegian as well I think).

    2026 FIFA World Cup

Well, I'm aware England was formed by Vikings as well! I could read the whole "Saxon Series" by one Bernard Cornwell :) One with the names ending with "thorpe"? :) How do your commenters pronounce "Haaland"? I hope it is "Holland" with the short "o"? It is actually the character "å". I was fed...

Vacation plans 2026 :) It reminds me of our family's 2004 vacation in (East) Germany. I decided I wanted to see Kap Arkona on the Baltic Sea. I was expecting to arrive in a forgotten area but the first thing I could see there was a huge SAS Radisson hotel. Oops! Turned out the German island of...
