Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

This may work for the seat post clamp with rack attachment. This is the Specialized seatpost clamp that works on the Creo 2 E5 with aluminum frame: S184700001 STC MY18 DIVERGE SEAT CLAMP WITH RACK MOUNT 30.6. Measure the outer diameter of the seat tube to double check. It does not work on the...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Some US states still require reflectors on bicycles. The Specialized support site is a good reference in particular the Turbo Vado SL and All About Turbo sections.

Replacing The Coin Battery In the Specialized SL TCU Gen 1

The was a post on the FB Creo site to use a magnet to pull the battery out while depressing the retainer. I may try that next time.

    Creo1 Handlebar Question

31.8mm is one of the common sizes. The Creo 2 section on the Specialized Support Site has a Creo 2 Rider Workbook. There are some differences between Creo 1 and 2 (tire sizes and motors) but a lot of the Rider Workbook information applies to both models. The Future Shock manual is a necessary...

    2025 Vado

I think a spring is mandatory for the Future Shock 1.5 stem, but using the preload washers is optional. The shop is supposed to put all of the extra parts in the case with the manuals and deliver it with the bike. Sometimes the assembling mechanic thinks they are just leftovers and throws them...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

They should have also checked the derailleur hanger to make sure it's aligned. I've been riding with dI2 for the last few years and I've been impressed with the Rival Eagle AXS once it's all adjusted.

    2025 Vado

Specialized Delivery - when I ordered my Creo 2 E5 online, I had it sent to my local LBS but I forgot to let them know. I received a call that it was assembled and ready to pickup. I asked one of the co-owners and she said they were more than happy to see an online order bike show up. They...

    Crank noise Vado Sl

There is a section in the support page for noise and motors Turbo Bikes: Motor Sound Explained. That is an impressive dealer. Could you imagine an auto dealership doing the same thing?

    Whizzbang Treat Alert W/Video

I've been using Cycliq cameras. Battery life is about six to seven hours. They are purpose designed as a cycling "dash cam". https://cycliq.com/ I used to ride a long solo commute so I considered it my "flight recorder". If you crash, you probably won't remember what happened since it's...

    GPS and its accuracy?

I carried a small zipper pull compass touring the narrow streets of Rome. Always works and it never needs batteries. It's part of my standard travel kit. In a few more years, using a map and compass will be a completely forgotten art.

    2025 Vado

My Garmin Varia eRTL615 Ebike Radar taillight came with a GoPro type seat rail attachment and I do not use a Specialzied saddle. I drilled a hole for the wire in a non-critical section of the aluminum head of the seat post similar to the Specialized seat post. I use lights 24/7 on my Creo. I...

Specialized Support site - Turbo Systems

Reading through the new article Turbo Technology: Specialized SL 1.2 Motor, it turns out the SL 1.2 will only draw maximum 70% power when only using a RE battery. Who knew? This will be of interest to people who plan to fly and tour with their Creo's and Vado SL 1s. Lithium batteries just...

    2025 Vado

How did we drift from a Vado to a Vado SL 2? You probably don't need to remove the battery just the lower battery cover but a shop might do that to be quicker. There are some notes of how to drill a Cirrus Kinect wiring hole in their aluminum seatpost from a post in this fourm from a two or...

(RESOLVED): Second time around...not the charm Vado 4.0

As the thread starter (edited) you can update the title to include "resolved". You certainly had an very unusual collection of atypical failures. Yes you can tell the difference between the two motors on a Creo but it is somewhat subtle depending on the mass of the rider.
