Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

The Specialized Mahle drive shaft is about 34mm diameter vs a SRAM DUB crank axle at 28.99mm. The bearings are correspondingly larger which why we don't normally have any bottom bracket issues for the life of the motor.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Yes the Creo 1 is road boost with 12 x 148mm Centerlock. It came with Shimano but I have since converted to SRAM with a XD driver. Centerlock is not required as you can also use a six bolt sensor although some third party magnets may not work. See the All About Turbo section article...

    Turbo Vado not switching on

Did you try to charge the Mastermind TCU with a USB C? A MM TCU bicycle will not start if the TCU charge is too low. Normal operation is the TCU is charged with the main battery but if it's been sitting it for months may need a boost. If you have a classic TCU, it with a coin cell battery...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

My Creo 1 has wheels built with a gravel 32H G540 rim and 350 hub with over 15000 miles. They are still as true as when they were new. My Creo came with oem Roval carbon wheels but I exceed their load rating so I never used them and sold to pay for the new wheels. Not worrying about wheels is...

Visualizing and exploring the power-sensing PAS in Specialized mid-drives — an interactive graphical model

Duplicate post in this thread. The 2.3 factor was marketing based on the motor. The full power motors are "4x you". The first SL was "1.8x you" etc. The support site has general Turbo section and bicycle specific sections. Generally the common information is in the General Turbo Knowlege...

    1.2 vs 2.0E motor

The 2.3 factor was marketing based on the motor. The full power motors are "4x you". The first SL was "1.8x you" etc. The link still works but it's was assuming the inquiry was from a French region. The support site has general Turbo section and bicycle specific sections. Generally the common...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

The only thing I dislike about SRAM brakes is they use DOT 5.1 or 4 brake fluid vs Shimano with mineral oil. The newest SRAM mountain bike brake models are using mineral oil.

Moving front light to fit a handlebar bar bag?

We need to start referencing the bike archive link available on the bottom of the Specialized page for some of these vintage models. I am a RTFM person so I always like to leave a reference to the support site.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

As we get older having more response with less grip strength is usually a good thing. Any of the better brakes modulate well. I think pads will make more of a difference. I use sintered pad because of my riding parameters but the organic pads usually provide better control. Some of the newer...

Moving front light to fit a handlebar bar bag?

Your post links to a Vado SL (2) 6 but you mention it's a 5.0. We used to be able to say I have a Creo or Vado SL and the features were common but now we need to be a little more specific with models. In either case it's possible to relocate the lights. Keep that in mind as you search the...

Electronic shifting becomes a necessity for a lot of riders as hand issues move from being an annoyance to a limitation.

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

There are mechanical watts/cadence and torque/cadence charts at the bottom of the SL 1.1 motor feature overview page. There is an equivalent SL1.2 page. https://support.specialized.com/kb/sp_en-us/content/ECV3-8425/Specialized-SL-11-Motor-Feature-Overview

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

The Vado SL 2 has a Mastermind H3 which is their latest version with new features. Not only do you have micro tune, you now get dynamic micro tune. https://support.specialized.com/kb/sp_en-us/content/ECV3-6142/03-Turbo-Vado-SL-2-Turbo-SL-System

Buying a new old-stock Vado SL

FYI for anyone else - If you order online and have it delivered to your LBS, they get paid a good portion of the commission as if they had it in stock or ordered it. My favorite shop was more than happy to have my Creo 2 show up unannounced for them to assemble. You don't get any discount from...

    Creo 2 Remote Buttons

Turbo Trail Remote 2 works with the (Creo / Creo 2 flatbar) / Vado SL 1.1 and Levo/Kenevo SL models that use the frame mounted TCU / Mastermind TCU. The Trail Remote 3 is used with the Mastermind H3 on the Vado SL 2 and some of the other new models. Originally they just called it "Trail Remote"...

    2015 2016 Turbo

I just posted this in the zombie thread. My Turbo S was purchased in November 2014. It's been dormant for about five years but I've recently added an Abus cafe lock and started using it again as an local errand and shopping bike. I don't trust it to go much beyond about 5 miles from home.

Vado SL 5.0 versus Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon - thoughts on upgrading

The SL 1.1 and 1.2 motors have the same bolt patterns. The only difference is there is a nylon spacer required for one of the bolts on the SL 1.1 motor that is not required for the SL 1.2. The motors are easy to remove with careful workmanship and the proper tools. Most of the bolts are torx...

    Specialized Creo 2 owners

It looks like a marketing prototype photo error. I'm a little surprised they are willing to accommodate you at the price point of an E5 but you should recognize they are going above and beyond to take care of you. My 2024 Creo 2 E5 came with a Future Shock 3.1 as it was specified. This is the...

    Specialized Creo 2 owners

It's frustrating when you use your bicycle for commuting and the shop mindset is in recreation mode. If they thought you had a big race or grand fondo you were signed up for, they could understand. I used my first Specialized ebike for an 18 mile commute but unfortunately the Turbo S was much...
