Entered My First Gravel Race........with the Frey Beast

Thanks. Just do it! I did see a couple of more gravel comps coming up later in the year. I'm sure your used to more seat time than I am, so a continuous four hour ride is probably nothing for you :) I may also enter some single track competitions later this year as well, such as the Dwellingup...

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

I've owned 3 of the Mark 2's over my lifetime. One was an RS2000 with the 2 litre pinto motor. I rebuilt the motor and the car from the ground up and tracked it for a while. It literally handled like a big go cart and would embarrass bigger hp V8 cars

Entered My First Gravel Race........with the Frey Beast

A friend of mine mentioned he was participating in his first gravel race with his Amflow Pro. I had a look at the courses which varied in distance - 25klm, 49klm, 90klm and 125klm. I entered in the 90klm race with 2025 vertical metres of climbing as I thought this would give the greatest...

My DIY builds: GMAC, BBSHD, 9C RH212, CYC Photon, ToSeven DM01, Grin All Axle

These days I drive an AMG C63 which also has 400rwhp but in a heavier package, so a fair bit slower.

My DIY builds: GMAC, BBSHD, 9C RH212, CYC Photon, ToSeven DM01, Grin All Axle

This was my S15 engine bay on the day I sold it about 10 years ago……circa 400rwhp. Lost my licence once and then copped a $1,000 fine and 8 demerit points another time so decided it had to go before it was confiscated and crushed…….400rwhp in a circa 1265kg car accelerated well back then.

My DIY builds: GMAC, BBSHD, 9C RH212, CYC Photon, ToSeven DM01, Grin All Axle

In the past I used to track my Ford RS2000 and Nissan S15 at my local racetrack. Have to agree with your ranking that was better than sex. 😎 Then I moved onto big boats which was also a lot of fun and an awesome lifestyle. When my daughter started high school we sold it due to us being able to...

    Offset Saddle Adapter

I use a setback adapter myself on my carbon EMTB. The adapter was used to stop the saddle rails flexing, which it did. Otherwise the saddle remains in the same position as before the adapter was installed. Pics for attention.

    Offset Saddle Adapter

I agree. Risk of damaging the seat tube. One of my e-bikes manufacturer specifically won‘t warranty frame damage caused by seat post racks because of the stress on the seat tube. Doing this is akin to installing a seat post rack depending on the amount of setback and your weight.

Fancy seatpost for more saddle angle adjustment?

I installed the fair bicycle drop best uc saddle clamp on my eMTB. I had a different use purpose in that I wanted to move the saddle further aft (provides up to 27mm rear aft adjustment). Dropper posts generally don’t have a rearward offset like most fixed seat posts and I was on the limit of...

    Gazelle Ultimate C380 HMB

Another option for a water bottle holder. You could mount it on your seat tube. https://www.merlincycles.com/en-au/sks-anywhere-bottle-cage-adapter-with-topcage-195759.html?utm_campaign=googlebase-AU&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=shopping&utm_term=Bottle+Cages&ucpo=116883&gQT=2

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

The Magura caliper runs a 1mm spacer on the fork post mount, so I could just remove that as a starting point. The rear is fine. I think Magura specs the 1 mm spacer for 203mm rotors and its removal for 200mm rotors. I did buy some 220mm MDR-C rotors which I have yet to fit, so I haven’t bothered...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

I would just fit them as I doubt you would have any issues. Your upsizing the rotors, so your overall braking performance will be improved. FYI, on my eMTB, the Magura pads sit slightly higher than the MDR-C rotor outer diameter. I discovered this when I had worn the pads down to the backing...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

I found them to a far better combo than the original setup. I did buy a bigger rotor for the rear, but it interferes with the nuts from the kick stand mount. So I have to figure out a way to refit the kick stand or lose it all together if I want the larger rotor. Edit - pic of the bike after I...

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

The P20.11 pads are dead quiet.

Rotors for 2-piston Shimano BR-MT410 extremely limited?

I have 203 MDR-C rotors on my eMTB. On my other ebike I upgraded my Tektro HD350 brakes to Shimano Icetek RT86 rotors (upsized 203 front and same 180 rear) with Tektro P20.11 pads from the junk E10.11. After the upgrade I felt confident the bike was actually going to stop from higher speeds...

Just joined the e-bike world - wow!

I have done over 2500 klms and haven’t experienced any chain slipping and I am still the original drivetrain. My bike uses a SRAM 12 speed drivetrain (NX 11-50 cassette and GX everything else). Once I dialled it in on purchase, this drivetrain has been absolutely faultless ever since. One of...

Just joined the e-bike world - wow!

Nice. Agree on the plush ride of a dual suspension ebike. That Bafang motor is a perfect match for the fatty. I have the same motor in my Frey Beast emtb.
