Me too... and I purposely avoid weekends as that's when they're out on the mups. I'm on my daily +20 mile ride and I think I passed 2 on bikes, a dog walker and a young couple. Retirement has its benefits... and that goes for shopping even more so.

So am I, but as an electrician we were always taught to keep metal to metal contacts clean and free of any contaminants. You seal around a clean connection. On new connections you have a better chance that the tight connection between conductors will displace the grease and not be an issue. But...

Even if potted, if the discharge port is always live you may be able to charge it slowly using a bench top power supply. If the BMS interrupts the discharge port... Then you're out of luck.

Have you tried to recover the battery that went below LVC as I did at the beginning of this thread? 80% SOC for storage is too high, you want to be near 50%. And that's 50% actual cell capacity, not usable.

Well then why are you commenting on Lycra d_bags if you have no experience with them?

By far the majority of Lycra d_bags in my area are on high end naturally aspirated road bikes. I believe the permission to close proximity high speed pass, cut off and block is given to them with their purchase receipt... Along with their color matching race bike attire. 🙃

Well it really depends on what voltage it was at when put in storage, the quality of the cells and the features of the BMS. In 2023 I stored my then 2 year old 10ah Sanyo GA cell battery for near another 2 years at 54.5V and though I did check it periodically, the voltage at the end of that time...

It's not what the meter reads immediately after assembly... It's what happens down the road. Silicone grease is not conductive and the julet connection is low voltage/low current... It doesn't take much to foul them. In your current situation a little grease will help facilitate disassembly, so...

Put a little silicone grease on the mating rubber and plastic before assembly... but keep it off the copper pins.
