Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I had something like that happen years ago. Dog ran across in front of my bike. Got caught in my front wheel. Dog flipped around and I went over the front of my bike onto the pavement. We both ended up mostly ok. Dog owner was apologetic. I felt bad for her dog. I'm always leary about...

    Bike Insurance

Thanks for this post. I was thinking I needed to add my new Vado 5.0 SL to my insurance. Checked with my homeowners and Velo. I have 2 bikes.. a 2020 Reign E+1 that is already on my homeowners policy. For homeowners, the total is about $320/year for both bikes. For Veloinsurance the total...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Got this bag to replace my top tube bag, because I didn't want to cover the TCU. Someone else recommended the Burrito bag from Roadrunner. I got the mini from Lead Out instead. Seems to be more waterproof and I liked the design a little better. Has good straps and a cord that I put around...

Bike Path Dirt Road Bike Mountains

I bought a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0. Love it so far. Tero was more offroad/heavier than I needed. I looked at it, but didn't test ride.

I guess I would have liked the front chain ring to be a 46t or higher, rather than a 44t. I guess I'm used to my quick carbon 2, that has a 50t large ring and 11 rear.

Also. I did wish I had another gear when I was going downhill. Wasn't even that steep and ran out of gear. Not a huge deal, but wanted to go faster.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Good point. I may try it again. I just have a go-to saddle that I use on my bikes. I'll keep with that until my bum doesn't hurt then try and switch back to the bridge.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Rode 14 miles yesterday. 27 miles today. Rode almost all ECO. Today I had Eco@35/100. Went outbound until battery was at 60%. More uphill and 10-15mph headwind. Wanted to make sure I had enough to get back. Ended up getting back with about 40% left. Tried putting it in Turbo...

Kinect drilling a hole Retrofitting a Suspension Seat Post on a Vado SL 5.0 (lighting)

Yeah. On the 2022 Vado 5.0 SL, there is a pretty large gap between where the post stops the seat tube and the seat. I had them cut it to 320mm and there is still a pretty good distance. Then again. I didn't check. Maybe it's hitting the screws for the back bottle holder?

Kinect drilling a hole Retrofitting a Suspension Seat Post on a Vado SL 5.0 (lighting)

Looks like Kinekt won't drill a hole for you anymore, so will definitely be using your guide when I get it. Also, couldn't get a short enough seat post, so I'll have to cut it down when I get it. I think default is 350mm. I need around 320mm due to my stubby legs.

Here is the photo. I looked at some stock photos and I don't see this on the internet photos. It's loose in the bracket. No way to tighten it, as far as I can tell. Maybe it's a new thing that someone decided we needed for safety? Its

Kinect drilling a hole Retrofitting a Suspension Seat Post on a Vado SL 5.0 (lighting)

Yeah I removed the light from the seat already. I hate the way they try and make you keep the specialized seat. I have the light mounted to a WTB seat with some 3m double sided tape for now. Maybe zip ties in the future.

Kinect drilling a hole Retrofitting a Suspension Seat Post on a Vado SL 5.0 (lighting)

So how did you disconnect the original light from the wiring in order to replace the seatpost? Do you have a picture of where that connection is? or did you cut the wires and resplice?

2022 Turbo Vado SL 5.0 Garmin 530 power cadence

Why wouldn't you use the bike's speed? It should be more accurate than the GPS. Assuming you measure the wheel circumference.

I ignored those messages because I knew I had the fields already setup the way I wanted. It still worked.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Oh yeah. One last thing. There is a small reflector above the front light. It just seems to hang loosely and sit in top of the light. I can move it up and down easily with my fingers. The bracket seems to be as tight as it goes, and holds the light plus the reflector. Is it supposed to...
