THIS RACE HAS SOMETHING SURPRISING AND DRAMATIC EVERY DAY!! What a crash laden duel. Incredible finish. I was cheering.

    Just for fun...

He's great with these, easy going & funny. Has done nearly all the pros MVDP, Pog, Pidcock and lately TdF Femmes winner Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney around the cafes of beautiful Girona. Even did one with surrealist Irish comedian (and avid cyclist) David O'Doherty!

Just looked up today's route. With a lot more climbing we'll really see if Bernal is suffering or can recover.

Just caught up with highlights this morning. So Movistar kicked hard on that big climb shredding the sprinters. Then drove on again in the last 10km. You can see that Christen timed his attack perfectly, just over the crest of a hill when the Movistar train falters, whole group's speed drops and...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

without testing it or failing that opportunity, seeing somebody on YT give it a rigorous review, it's hard to know about range and what it rides like unassisted. The battery is 290w? or maybe 250 but the bike is on paper so light then this might be enough. For comparison I've ridden a Vado SL...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

So far I think the TQ40 has appeared on Canyon, Ridley, BMC and Scott bikes. Haven't heard of any other brands yet? Personally I prefer the Canyon just because the implementation would suit my riding conditions; 2x with low gears and 180 rotors plus a comfortable high stack shorter reach geo...

    Usernames...

Yep I also invented my user name just for EBR. Rás Cnoic; Irish for hill racer. Though 'slow out of breath hill wobbler' is probably what I should have called myself. But my username has evolved over time, now with the added sub title The Apostle, bestowed on me (lovingly) by another member...

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

Was wondering this myself after seeing the bombardment of reviews of the analogue Endurace on YT this morning. They must sell far more analogue Endurace bikes then the ON:flys as its harder to find rider reviews and they don't market them half as much. That new Endurace mudguard system that...

How many doctor visits have you had?

Back in the 80s mountain biking in the local mountains the Ballyhouras I was bombing down a firebreak and misjudged a bunny hop over a little stream/gorge couple of feet across, all rocks, and landed, spectacularly, in the middle of this stream on my face. I had multiple little cuts all over...

He used do live commentary on Eurosport from the back of a motorbike weaving in and out of the riders shouting into his mic! Sounded like Schwarzenegger!

Bike stand looks like a lidl central aisle special. Have one for years, cheap but does the job!

Aussie commentators on stream I was watching, (and ex Giro riders) pointing out that Milan's big body motion & style on the brick cobbles was making his bike hop all over the road whereas Magnier was more contained. Small margins, half a wheel. He's 22 and has arrived.

Great sprint! Enormous crowds and no crashes.

Peloton just passed a couple on their wedding day with friends and family and photographers. They timed their kiss backs to the road (safely back from road) as the peloton passed behind them, lovely! Should be a (kinda mad) great wedding pic. Maybe slow shutter to create a nice blur rather then...

Bulgaria has some gorgeous scenery. Didn't realise the mountains are so tall & Alpine like, the snow covered Rila range rising up like a wall behind the peloton as they head towards Sophia. Straight forward sprint stage so far today, after yesterday's shenanigans.

INRNG has a good write up of yesterday's stage. His thoughtful daily blogs of each stage of the grand tours are excellent reading. Much more insightful than general coverage. Always a good robust discussion in the messages as well. https://inrng.com/2026/05/giro-stage-3-preview-sofia/#more-47436

So Yates made it to the finish after all, 14mins back- I'd last seen him on an ambulance stretcher/gurney side of road being seen to so assumed he was out. The fact his face was coated in blood from that gash behind his ear made it look like he was heading straight to hospital! But no he got...

Especially Yates. Though if he recovers in time? Need an update on injuries. Horrible crash. Reminds me of that one in the Tour a few years ago in Brittany small lanes where a woman held out a cardboard sign for cameras and brought down half the peloton. Grand Tour crashes seem to be worse for...
