    Battery

That looks like a tiger shark or dolphin case. If you don't mind replacing the mounting bracket also, you can buy any new 48V battery with a new mounting bracket and splice in the connector from your controller with butt connectors or solder/heat shrink tubing...

FWIW, less than 10% of plastics actually get recycled. Most plastic isn't recycled due to high sorting costs, contamination, technical limitations, and the lower cost of producing new plastic. China has had a ban on importing foreign wastes, including plastics, since 2018.

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I didn't know they still made friction drive motors. Isn't it tensioned by a spring? I would recommend going to a mid-drive or hub drive motor kit instead.

    Street Registration Question

I thought I had read that some people had successfully registered their Sur-rons as mopeds in California.

Hello from a robotics enthusiast / Exploring the "smart" side of E-Bikes

Welcome to EBR. As Gionnirocket said, the serious DIY crowd hangs out at Endless Sphere. It's really quite a unique place. Hall-effect sensors are found all over ebikes, there's a set in the motor for determining rpm and direction of the motor, most throttles use a hall-effect sensor, PAS uses...

Using High-Torque Servos (MG996R) for DIY Locking Pins or Accessories?

I use the Pitlock system on one of my analog bikes (skewers, seatpost, saddle, stem, and headlight) and it does give me some peace of mind leaving it locked up for an hour or so. I don't think I would consider complicated servos for automated kickstands or locking pins. Just more things to...

    Street Registration Question

This is an e-bicycle forum. I am not sure, but I think in California, it needs to have a VIN number. A serial number might work. You would go to the DMV to register it in California. If you have a AAA membership, they may be able to help you.

    Lectric One Cargo pack fitment

How often would you be riding at night vs the convenience of having the basket? Most of the time you will be riding in a straight line. If there are street lights where you are making turns, it would probably be a non-issue anyway. You can also mount a light to your helmet that would light up...

    Lectric One Cargo pack fitment

It looks like the headlight needs to be moved and mounted to the rack. Have you contacted Lectric support?

    People are getting crazier

The boy looks like he is on an emoto, but she tries to mow him down with her car. https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2026/may/04/woman-drives-down-sidewalk-chasing-child-on-a-dirt/

    Parent Mode

I think it is a gimmick that won't get used. At least not for teenagers. Maybe if you are putting a ten year old on the bike.

    Tailbone Issues?

You might be too upright on the bike and getting a longer stem or different handle bars could help also. Saddles are very much personal preference. What works for me wouldn't necessarily work for you. They do sell saddles meant to help with that issue, but I haven't used one. I put Brooks...

    The transition

I have known a few people that drove those kinds of miles every day. But they didn't work in agriculture, they worked in IT in Santa Clara and San Jose and couldn't afford the kind of home they wanted near the office. All of them drove a small, cheap, economy car for the commute. Although at...

    The transition

People can live where and how they want to. I live in the mountains of Southern California and work is 420 miles away in San Jose. I make the drive one way every two weeks. It works for me but probably wouldn't work for 99% of the population. We buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and didn't renew...

Unpopular opinion: the DYU A5 proves e-bikes have killed traditional commuting bikes for me

Ebikes have become more popular and accepted in the last ten years, but I have no doubt that there are still some people out there who feel like it is cheating and undermines the value of their accomplishments. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about their opinions. There are many more...
