    My Radwagon 5 arrived

I guess Fedex won't handle cartons of ice-cream or eggs. Walmart will ship some foods, but in general, groceries need delivery. A delivery driver is not an employee. She looks at the orders ready for delivery and will probably choose more than one of they are generally along the same route. Her...

    My Radwagon 5 arrived

According to Apple Maps, Walmart is 9.9 miles away including 600 feet of climbing. I pay the annual fee, which I guess comes down to about $10 per trip. On top of that, I go with Walmart's recommended tip, which is about 10%. I guess the tip is what drivers are willing to work for. If I tipped...

    My Radwagon 5 arrived

A couple of years ago, using bins and saddlebags, my Abound could hold almost as much as a standard grocery cart filled almost to the brim. I found I didn't need so much volume. The saddlebags positioned weight low but were a hassle to load and unload, and they were in the way of maintenance and...

    rear axle protective caps

On my way Radmission, the end of the axle is 11mm out from the flange of the nut. The one I found allows 24mm. I imagined it was a lug nut cap that came off from hitting something or vibration. Maybe it wasn't for a wheel. At Amazon I had better luck searching for "18mm nut cap." My Abound came...

    rear axle protective caps

I found a rubber lug-nut cap on the street. At 18mm, it fits both my bikes. Amazon has 18mm caps for certain VWs. They're $5 for a box of 20. The one I found sticks out 27mm, while the VW ones stick out only 20mm, which should be plenty for a bike.

Need Recommendation For A Lift To Work On Our Two Heavy Ebikes

Years ago I saw video of a mechanic in a large shop replacing the BB in an 80-pound bike with each end suspended from the ceiling. Swinging wasn't a problem, and the bike couldn't tip over.. I've found that in some cases, swinging is annoying, so I use 2 eyebolts, each rated at 600 pounds, to...

I don't ride anywhere without this tool. This morning I stopped to use it only 300 yards from my driveway. As usual, there was no emergency. I did it to flirt. A beautiful automobilist did likewise. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZT49CBG To paraphrase a line about Robert Mitchum in "Thunder...

I haven't had that problem, but the chain on my Radmission kept smudging my right pants cuff. I used a heat gun to bend a piece of polyethylene garden edging into a guard to cover 11cm of chain. I installed a faucet with a pull-down sprayer on the bathroom sink so I could rinse soap off my face...

I haven't yet needed this spreader for brake pads, but it was just the tool to pop the cover off my Radmission motor to dispel my misconception that it was direct drive.

Can 36v be better than 48?

The weight of these motors immediately persuaded me that they were direct drive. I also noticed that they were quieter than my Radrunner gears. I weighed the front and rear wheels from my Radmission: 2.8 and 5.7 kg. The 2.9 kg difference sounds like a geared motor. So I opened it. You're right...

Can 36v be better than 48?

My 2020 Radrunner had 20 poles and 5:1 gearing. I believe the Rover and the Mini used the same motor. To program a KT controller, one multiplied the poles by the gearing and said it had 100 poles. Using a motor with 100 poles would have the same effect as gearing a 20-pole motor: 5 times the...

Can 36v be better than 48?

Of 4 e-bikes I've had, only the first had a geared motor. I think the advantage to gears is lightness because you can get torque with fewer poles. Geared or direct drive, if a motor is set up for a back emf of 48 at a little over 28 mph, a 36 volt battery won't let it spin much over 21 mph...

how to transfer image from Android SMS to email?

Got it! I got that phone as a phone. How am I supposed to know all those icons and swipes and other stuff? Bluetooth failed again, but email worked this time. Thanks for the tips!

It said I was sending it with bluetooth, then said it failed. I thought I was attaching the file to an email, but when I opened it on the Mac, it had no content. Arggh!

how to transfer image from Android SMS to email?

A man wrote me an estimate this afternoon. He said my carbon copy was faint and offered me a picture. He sent it from his phone to mine. I asked if he could email it so I'd have it on my Mac. It didn't arrive. I guess he got my email address wrong. How can I email an Android text attachment?

Can 36v be better than 48?

The Aventon 48 volt battery is 678 watt hours, while the 36 volt battery is 720 watt hours. It looks like the 36-volt battery would cost a little more. I was thinking of back emf. A PM motor is a generator. The faster it turns, the more voltage it produces against the battery. If you hooked it...

Can 36v be better than 48?

Aventon seems to be going to 36 volts. There must be advantages. Maybe it could prevent users from getting far more than legal power with an aftermarket controller. Maybe a 36 volt battery is easier for a controller to keep equalized. Anyone know why Aventon is reducing voltage?

    Need dust cap for freehub

Ten years ago I bought this assortment of 419 universal o-rings in 32 metric sizes. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KC3CUJE They have seldom worked. They may be metric, but they aren't ISO. Anyway, 32 sizes isn't nearly enough. So I went here. Jackpot...

    no wheels

Poor balance is associated with being old, but it has causes. As I dismounted my 550-pound bike, I fell over backward with it on top of me. I was 23. It was 10 PM. I’d been riding almost continuously since 5 AM on back roads across five states. The bike had done my balancing. Now, as I...
