Yes I meant the steerer tube. Vado SL 4 and 5 have different forks.

Not in Vado SL 1 4.0. Only in 5.0: it is a carbon fork. I use Redshift on my Vado SL 1 4.0; it's a normal steerer.

The extra springs should be delivered with the e-bike! Wide, low inflated tyres make a big difference! I don't know.

Are you aware the Future Shock can be stiffened with an extra spring? I ride a Vado SL 4 with a Redshift ShockStop suspension stem. I also inflate my tyres lowly (such as 2.6 bar: am a heavy person; the pressure could be even lower for someone lightweight). Trust me, I often ride terrain...
