Elalio and O'Connor 25s back. Up front, Arensman and Bernal are right up there with Hindley. 7km to go and Jonas is down to Piganzoli. Piganzoli has shredded the front group to 6 riders.

Amsterdam Bicycle Company pause US Ebike sales citing 50% tariffs

US customs has always been like that, across many administrations. Some deliveries go through in a day or two, others take weeks, months, or never make it. This is nothing new. What's dumb is allowing small countries to tariff the hell out of, or outright ban, products from the largest consumer...

    Garmin Varia 515 malfunction

Having cyclist specific detection is very helpful on the rail trail when a Sur-Ron is approaching from behind at 30+mph.

Another short stage today with multiple category 2 and 3 climbs, followed by the category 1 climb to the finish in Cari, 11.2km at 8% average. A break of four including Narvaez and Cicconi are under 2:00 out. Narvaeez is going to sprint points and Ciccone is going for mountain points. Visma is...

    Garmin Varia 515 malfunction

One enhancement that I would like to see on the RearVue 820 is to have the peloton mode reduce the sensitivity or even ignore cyclist detection. Right now, it's light control only. I want motor vehicle detection, but not others that I am riding close to.

Understood, but we cannot ignore the abuses of the past.

Head butting is a way to create space and disrupt a rider next to you during a sprint without violating the "hands on the bars" regulation. I'm sure the crash was not intentional but it was a direct consequence of his dangerous action. UCI regulation 2.12.007.8.2.1 indicates a fine of 200 to...

concerns with ebikes laws and ways to improve them

The category charts for racers are 100% bullshit. I can't say that enough. I've actually done races averaging over 30mph for over an hour. Have any of you? I did not average over 600 watts. Not even close. Racing is not a steady state activity. Put those charts back in the trash bin where they...

Amsterdam Bicycle Company pause US Ebike sales citing 50% tariffs

That's not just tariffs, that's manufacturers enforcing geographic restrictions. Ribble, Merlin, Bike24, etc. have been shut down shipping OEM parts to the US that can be bought through normal channels in the US. Grey market enforcement.

Brake cable emptied out all the brake fluid

We hire high school kids every summer at the shop. If your son is interested in learning how to work on bikes properly, ask the shops in your town if they are hiring.

Brake cable emptied out all the brake fluid

True, but if the brakes fail at speed, that could be a life threatening situation.

    Another new TQ motor: hpr40

The cranks on my HPR50 based bike are ISIS. I changed the cranks to Praxis Type 4 E-Cranks in carbon. I am looking into having a Tempo power meter pod installed on the left side. There is 15mm of clearance on my frame, where 10mm is needed. The back of the crankarms are flat, which supports this...

Normally the GC neutralization, which is what defines the start of the "safety zone", from that point until the finish, where the GC times are taken, is at 3km to go to the line. A timing device and a Commissaire are set up there. GC time is set by the group that you are in at that point. That...

Specialized drop prices in North America for Levo range. Permanent drop due to competitive market.

Yes, both nationally and internationally. There's a UCI Grand Tour road race going on right now, the Giro D'Italia in Italy. Before the start of every stage, they start a stage of the E-Giro, an e-bike road race. They will race a similar course. E-MTB racing is also a thing. E-MTB's race in...

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

After watching the replay from 25km out, I saw no reason to neutralize the GC at the bell, as the course seemed fine. However, I don't think this had any effect on the outcome. The GC riders had almost 10km to get out of the way, which was plenty of time to avoid causing issues. I think that...

That's how it went down, but that's not the plan. The idea is to have the two riders from the teams with a stake in the sprint to whip up the chase. The problem was with the front of the field not willing to chase hard. The whole neutralization disaster didn't help. I'll have to watch the replay...
