As a kid I-we always removed the fenders. Jeez you had to look cool after all. Did we mind getting wet and dirty, NO we were kids. Today for the kind of riding I do the fenders stay on. The little weight they add doesn't amount to a hill of beans especially with an ebike.

Have you actually tested this or is it something you are theorizing about? You must have a lot of time to do all those oil changes not to say all the oil filters you use. Do you use the cheapest you can find on sale too?
