    Battery charging

This is contrary to any battery charging instructions on any of the electric bikes I have owned.

Whom pays for your charge ?

My 2 amp. charger for my bike burns 85 watts. That is a trivial amount of electricity. My toaster oven uses 1500.

I believe that is what corn head grease is designed for.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I too love the silence of my Brose motor powered bicycle. After all it is the silence of an electric powered bike being one of the reasons I ride electric. I have had a couple of grinding/noisy, surging electric bikes so really appreciate the smooth silent Brose system. I have a 400cc motor...

    Bike speed

If children are raised as responsible individuals they should for the most part grow up to follow rules and regulations without the fear of the law having to punish people with fines or other consequences. Unfortunately some past leader/leaders are making skirting and or breaking the rule of...

Unsolicited comments about your ebike lately?

In the beginning people used to make lots of negative remarks on my electrics. That was when there were few ebikes. Now they far outnumber non electrics and nobody comments anymore. The non ebike riders today tend to be old school hard core dyed in the wool Lycra clad riders. They ride mostly...

    Ananda M80 motor

If what you have now is a mid drive than just put on a small chain ring. If it is a hub drive then maybe different sun gears can be fitted to lower the gearing ratio.

    Maybe a dumb question but...

Most diesel pickups run two lead acid batteries parallel. I believe they only have one voltage regulator. The batteries are identical and expect they must be to work correctly.

Mid-Drive - Front Tire Wear More than Rear Tire Wear?

The only way that could happen is by heavy use of the front wheel brake.

    Electric Car thread

Maybe someone can answer my question regarding battery life in seldom used tools, automobiles, ebikes, snow blowers etc. The issue I have with electric equipment is the battery longevity. Say I intend to keep a car for 15-20 years and don't put many miles on it. I fear the battery pack will die...

Trying to decide on my first ebike

I went from a 4 in tire bike to a 2.3 in tire and must say it near jared my bones loose. I used to ride off road, sand pit and wherever I felt like going and my fat tire would take me. I went where others were carrying their bikes. I am getting too old for that now so sold it. As someone said it...

hill climbing? 750W hub versus 250W mid drive

My mid drive may climb steeper hills than my hub drive but at a lower gear which results in a slower bike speed. Keep bike speed and gear up and the 52v battery 750 w hub motor and it will take me up a hill faster and easier. If the wheel speed gets to slow though it looses torque.

    Shimano EP 801, throttle??

I tend to agree with you. I had two bikes with throttles and found it a useful help from time to time. They add merrily a few grams so it isn't a heavy item. Yes I miss a throttle on my new bike.

    2023 Prodigy ST

I just happen to have the Prodigy ST version and find your opinion to be quit negative which I believe is not warranted. I now have trouble free 1500 miles on my machine An have yet to find anything negative about it. Well, the walk mode could function better. I have never, never experienced any...

Turbo Como 4 IGH - WALK ASSIST MODE

I didn't say it doesn't work it just does not work well. It surges and is jerky and unpredictable. This is my second one.

Turbo Como 4 IGH - WALK ASSIST MODE

Let's face it the Brose walk system is as close to useless as you can get. It is so hard to use I usually don't even try. This is too bad because the rest of the Brose system works superb.

    Longevity

I was just thinking about the cost of owning and riding an ebike and if it really was an economical choice.. If I pay $2000.00 dollars for a bike and I have 2000 miles on it so far it has cost me one dollar a mile. To get the cost down to a quarter of a dollar a mile I would have to get 8000...

    Lectric One

It makes sense if you think about it. If your gearbox is mid drive then you are multiplying the strain on the belt or chain when in a lower gear. Gearing and motor in the wheel and you do not any more strain on the chain than a normal bike.
