I regularly re-torque these bolts, so much so that I’m worried about stripping out the heads. Does anyone know whether these are grade 8 bolts or could I replace them with stainless steel? TIA.

If the tick is still an issue, check your pedal bearings. My pedals wore out on my Explore e3. Also, I have found that the motor mounting bolts loosen over time. You might have your dealer check those.

Final Update. I got about 1/8 turn out of each of the 3 mounting bolts to get to 30 N-m torque. Problem solved. Something to check periodically going forward. I found a service manual for the 2020 versions of Giant / Yamaha SynchDrives here...
