Whats a good seat replacement for the hard Radcity seat?

I've been using a Bikeroo seat on my RadRunner since May, and like it a lot for the relatively low price -- I think I paid around $36 USD on Amazon (though prices seem to have increased since May). I also use this seat in combination with a Satori Aramis suspension seatpost (~$80 USD), which I...

Rad Power Raises Prices for some models

I recall seeing the RadWagon 4 originally advertised at a "pre-order" price, and maybe this was also the case with the RadMission. But now that RPB is catching up on their stock, perhaps they've eliminated this "pre-order" discount??? (though they never offered a pre-order discount for the...

    Light up my life

For what it's worth, I got a dual-mount handlebar extender (virtually the same thing you have) for ~7$ on Wish (shipping included). These items come from China, and shipping times vary. But I don't think I've ever had to wait more than a couple of weeks (I have purchased a few bike accessories...

    Light up my life

Maybe I wasn't clear about this -- I am not trying to use the laptop charger to charge the bike battery. I was simply looking for a spare DC plug that I could remove from the old laptop charger and re-use to rig up a cable to run between the bike's battery charging port and the headlight...

Mod Radrunner 1 or Radrunner Plus?

Got it. I watched one video of a freewheel/cassette installation where the guy just screwed the entire assembly (gear set + freewheel) to the hub, basically hand-tight, and that was it. And I stand corrected that it is the axle nut, not the motor cable, that is problematic for the freewheel tool...

Mod Radrunner 1 or Radrunner Plus?

Fantastic -- this is the quick and clear answer I was looking for. Thanks very much!

    Light up my life

Understood. But the AC adapter (laptop charger) that caused the spark is basically the same thing -- it's just a cable connected to an AC/DC transformer with some built-in surge suppression/signal conditioning circuitry -- unless plugged into the wall, it is not acting as load either but rather...

Mod Radrunner 1 or Radrunner Plus?

Thanks for clarifying -- the "ratchet" concept of a freewheel I basically already know. What I did not know is to which part of the drive train the freewheel is typically attached (or integrated into); e.g., the sprocket/cassette or the motor hub itself? If I understand you correctly, typical...

    Light up my life

Good to know. Yet sparking of course does not occur when I plug in the RPB charger. So I wonder what is the difference? Neither the adapter I tried nor the RPB charger are grounded when not plugged in (on the other end) to a wall socket. Perhaps the RPB plug is just better insulated or something???

    Light up my life

Yeah that headlight upgrade is not a great value. In general, it seems that a big piece of RPB's profit margin derives from selling overpriced parts and accessories. Shipping is no bargain either -- I looked into purchasing a spare tube for my RadRunner @ $12 each -- a little steep, but not...

Looks promising. Didn't know you could power accessories through the battery by plugging into its charge port. Is this correct? That these batteries can supply/source back-voltage?

Mod Radrunner 1 or Radrunner Plus?

Okay, thanks. Maybe a confusion (likely on my part) regarding terminology. The description of the motor in the link you posted states "Bafang Screw Freewheel Rear brushless gear hub motor..." So apparently what this means is that the hub has threads that will accommodate a freewheel single speed...

Mod Radrunner 1 or Radrunner Plus?

According to the link you posted, these motors come with a freewheel, no? In any case, I read in a different post by Ccount that the 750w motor with the freewheel will not fit the RadRunner, or rather perhaps that the stock RadRunner single speed freewheel/sprocket will not work in combination...

Mod Radrunner 1 or Radrunner Plus?

I have read conflicting (or anyhow unclear) reports on whether or not the true 750w Bafang motor will fit the RadRunner and/or precisely what modifications are required. If you know, could you please explain in detail (photos help)? I would also like to know where you purchased the motor and the...

Looks pretty good from a distance. I'd like to see a close-up photo, say near the head tube where the pattern transitions around the frame.

    Light up my life

For what it's worth, I use an ordinary headlamp on my RadRunner -- i.e., basically a compact yet powerful flashlight that is typically worn around the head with a headband, which is less expensive than typical bike headlamps yet works just as well. See...

Radrunner upgrade to TRUE 750w Bafang hub motor

I'm sort of curious why you were keen on upgrading to the 750w Bafang motor? From what I understand, this mod adds lots of toque but little to no additional increase in top speed. The extra torque would be useful for hill climbing. But if you're riding on mostly flat roads/trails, I don't see...

    Gear Upgrade for RadRunner

Thanks for sharing these details. Not sure I understand, exactly, the required modification to the new Bafang axle -- so perhaps a photo or two would be helpful. Specifically, you first mention that the axle is "too long," and then that it (the axle or the shoulder, not sure which you are...
