    Lectric XP Hill Issue

I'm going down hill when it glitches, not up. Fresh battery. Not a voltage drop problem. Not that long or steep a hill, .3 miles in length, 50ft vertical at most. When I go back up the same hill on my way home, the bike is able to maintain 12-15mph on the way up, throttle only, with panniers...

    Lectric XP Hill Issue

I have also experienced the PAS/throttle outage after going down a hill. Unfortunate because there is a small uphill, plus traffic light / major road at the bottom, and having no throttle in that critical area sucks. I shift to a low gear at the bottom of the hill in anticipation of it not...

Modding ideas for higher throttle top speed?

The hand throttle tops out at about 24. The PAS system on this bike requires you to move the pedals forward at any speed. You don't have to push, just spin the pedals forward, as slow as you want. The bike is at its max potential at 28. I weigh about 190# (85kg), and 28 is hard to get to...

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Thats silly. A simple software change in the controller would increase the number of PAS levels, or space them out better. You'll have to pay more for a proper torque-sensing PAS system, which is not what I was talking about.

    Non clumsy battery removal?

The reason I bought the Lectric was the stealth-ish design with the battery in the frame, and not on a rack, or in a bag etc. My google search term which got me to Lectric had to do with stealth. So, I'm willing to live with the tradeoffs, just looking for the best way to deal with it. I...

    Non clumsy battery removal?

Anyone have any tips on positioning the bike for battery removal and installation where everything is stable and easy to get to? I've been struggling with keeping the bike from falling, not dropping the battery and not getting my fingers caught in the hinge. Anyone have a good way to position...

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

If you are riding with a non-ebike cyclist, you need to be able modulate the speed in small increments. The difference between maintaining 13mph and 15mph can be significant to an average human cyclist. The 11-18 gap between PAS 2 and 3 is massive.

    Hydraulic Brakes On Lectric XP?

To gain advantage from hydro brakes and larger rotors, you also need wider handlebars. The advantage would be the ability to brake with 1 finger. This would leave you with 4 fingers on the bars for more control with constant coverage of the brakes. However, setting it up this way means...

    Hydraulic Brakes On Lectric XP?

If you have a soldering iron, you can solder the end to keep the strands together. Easier to buy the little end caps.

Changing percentage of power within the power assist levels

For threading the needle, I find it best to use the throttle. You can go very slow with throttle only. Or, hold the brakes very slightly while pedaling to disable the electrics while pedaling.

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Mine had a minor problem. The first ride was great. We then parked it, and messed with the key to turn it off. On the 2nd ride, it was very slow, and hesitated. Lots of delay before throttle or PAS would work, and then very weak. Turning the controller off/on didn't help. But re-doing...

Can I use my XP to go mountain bike trail riding

My XP showed up a few days ago. After seeing this thing, I know why people are tempted to take it on trails. It is massive, especially compared to a normal folding bike. I still wouldn't do anything to put undue force on the folding handle bars however.

Has your Lectric XP exceeded your expectations?

Ours showed up yesterday. I was expecting terrible things from the brakes. However, after some breaking in, they work pretty well. They are even starting to quiet down a little. The bike is also way more fun to cruise around using thottle-only than I expected.

Can I use my XP to go mountain bike trail riding

My Lectric is not here yet, but if the folding handlebar stem is similar to the ones I have on my Dahon and other folding bike, you should not be hitting jumps and drops with it. There is so much leverage on the hinge area due to the length of the stem, and so much body weight ends up on the...
