How many miles a year do you ride?

[truncated] Stefan, yes, I hope to improve. and know I will. But I just want to highlight that we are all so different! I am a purely recreational rider. I know so many others are practical riders who have 15 to 20 miles of daily commutes. so the initial question of yearly mileage will vary...

How many miles a year do you ride?

I entered the e-bike realm in June of 2025. Therefore my reply to yearly mileage total is of no value. Though, I love seeing everyone's mileage, both short and long! just like I love seeing anyone pedaling a bike with or past me on the trail or road. We are having fun. Though I've biked since I...

After the morning rain there was a brief clearing, So, I got in an hour ride, a few loops around the posh Woodside neighborhoods. I did put on my SKS speed rocker rear fender, but misplaced part of the front fender. Also the Speed Terra 45 tires did very well on the wet pavement and leaves and...

HAHA. This is true. But in the e-bike world I have learned less mass = longer battery range. you know the Creo is only 320Wh. Also more efficient wheels make a difference. I have also dropped 10lbs of my own weight.

Stefan, I do not know. I never compared the mechanical to the wireless. I did update my Santa Cruz Tallboy MTB from cabled 11 speed X01 to 12 speed AXS, many years ago. I never considered the weight. I would think the AXS is slightly heavier. but I move slowly anyway...haha

Thanks, Ras. Yep. it got wet and a little muddy on that ride. I have some SKS mudguards for my Hakka, which I think will fit (from the crazy rains 2 years ago). I am fender guy. I will only install if I need to.

Stefan, nope. The Creo is one of three Eagle AXS drivetrains in my bike corral. My Hakka is still mechanical GRX, though. and factory grease stripped. Silca wet chain lube applied. Here are the other two AXS bikes…

    RideWithGPS

Sorry, can we go back on topic for a second? Especially, since I forwarded this thread to my friend/ride buddy who does not have a GPS computer and I suggested RidewithGPS. I am no expert, but am transferring over to RWGPS myself, for route planning. His DIY tadpole trike ebike is his ride. I am...

New to the Group - Looking for Gravel Friends in the Bay Area

Welcome to EBR forum, dpaulson! I am on the peninsula, and since July I ride a Creo 2 (also a gift to myself...birthday.) In San Mateo County, the trails are not legal for eBikes, so I ride mostly road, with a few side gravel roads, etc. Driving 45 minutes south, there are trails which are...

First ride with moderate updates… Lots of rain in the forcast in the SF Bay Area, lasting beyond Christmas. I found a clear hour+ a few mins of sun, and more minutes of light rain, as I headed North. Mostly pavement. backroads, and a short service road. 22mi, 1480ft. There were no photo...

    Which brake first?

It depends. Steep downhill: Yesterday, riding my Creo down a short, but steep, gravel road (range of 6% - 23%) with ruts...first time riding that trail, I had my dropper down, gripping the drops, and standing on pedals... Initially I slow with light rear braking, to see the looseness of the...

I live in San Mateo County...of all the counties in the Bay Area, it has the least amount of bike access on the trails, compared to nearby counties, though it has hundreds of miles of trails, as it is hiker and equestrian biased. That said, NO dirt trails in SMCounty allow e-bikes, of any type –...

2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

After a few days of rain, headed out for an hour ride nearby. It wasn't a long ride, so I only took these photos at my turnaround point on the north end of the route. I know this trail is closed to bikes, but I walked in a bit to capture the photo of the trees. I love the vibe after the rain...

New to EBR, Creo 2 user

Zippy2, Welcome to EBRforum. I picked up my Creo 2 Comp in June. So much fun! I ride 80% road 20% trails here in Northern California. With your 50/50 road/gravel riding, what tires are you using? I have read that UK spec Creos have a lower speed cut off for assist. Mine is 28mph.
